I am a current Gold subscriber. Please check your line speed here http://www.telkom.co.za/checkadsl/

I have eaten 90gb so far. I get shaped to 250kB/s on the peak times. Other than that I run full speed.

Guys, How is Openweb's overall speeds during business hours on the Silver and Gold Uncapped? I realise it's down to how busy the network is. But how do people feel about these speeds in general?

i want to change my current 4mb uncapped that am paying R449 for to the standard uncapped package of R349.

I have logged numerous calls and each time the port has to be reset as the off peak download speeds are always running at 16kbs

Would me going onto the standard uncapped , besides the saving, help with the issue ? After doing the port reset and doing the router reset speeds are excellent for a day or 2.

Hi SFW007,

You would need to log a fault with Telkom. When we reset your port, we are requesting a port reset from Telkom. The only reason why we assist with this is to try and make your life easier. But unfortunately it seems in your case an official fault needs to be logged.

Same here, but the level of service with Gold more than makes up for it. I'd recommend it any day

Anyone else having intermittent IS newserver connections.
Been happening most of the morning.

The IS news server seems very unstable. I often get bad connections to it. However, when it works it works wonderfully.

I must say that for me it usually works very well.

Morning all. I got my line converted on Thursday and signed up for the Open Web Gold package. Signup was quick and easy and within a few hours I was online. Speeds over the weekend was EPIC! Thanks openweb

The only thing that I found slightly annoying was the username assigned to me that I use to logon to the portal, I will never remember that.

How is anyones IS News Server stuff currently (no matter what I pick to d/l) ? Not getting more than 3-5KB/s on Gold, normal HTTP d/l are flying as expected so my a/c & line all seems fine.
