When do you experience this issue?

How are you determining the speed?

If your second hop is high, you more than likely have a congested exchange issue or similar.

Because your line syncs at 2Mbps, it does not mean there is no fault on it.

Post your message, now I am attaching this Test Results from Telkom that clearly proves the line is alright. Modem is also fine. Still my speeds are less than 1 Meg where my subscription is for 2 Meg. How can this be explained?????

Kindly PM me the details of 3 x sites that are slow on the loading.

Also please forward me the number you called from, so that I can investigate the issue you experienced with the call centre.

Do you perhaps have an agents name as well? Please include that in the PM

I did send a mail or few to Charmaine J regarding the issue of not getting any support ...and upto now haven't needed any. Just hope that next time, I won't have to call, only to be put on hold / email 5x / SMS 5 x to be told its a router or Telkom issue .... Which I had checked prior to contacting support.

But for now, apart from the viscous shaping ..understandably.... it's all ok thanks.

I gauge the speed from Speedtest.net.. thats how I reported the ping issue.. These fluctuations don't have a specific time of the day..

Its a simple thing, the Telkom guy visited today, tested everything and showed his results which I pasted for your info.. He says its perfect from Telkom's side. He says my router is working fine as well.. Now, unless there is something drastically wrong, points the fault to OW.. I haven't seen any such results on why there is no fault with OW?
 
Didnt seem to help me. talked tooooo soon ............tonight i got total inconsistancy running from 150 up to 350. Seem i talked toooo soon
 
I have now been using your account since you posted your ADSL test report on the forum earlier, and it is rock solid, getting full speed.

I will also test it on 5 x of our ADSL lines across the country, just to make sure

No! I never seem to enjoy these unshaped weekends...if anything my account seems to perform worse during this time.

Openweb reset my port but still no change - waiting on further feedback at the moment.

@ Thaabietv i had the same issue you now have and can tell you how i fixed it. You actually gotto find out where your local exchange is and physically go to or befriend someone there in the exchange itself. get someone to pay special attention to your line as such. My line was like a rollercoaster for months until i got it sorted that way.

Hey Friends,

I am really happy to hear you are having fun!

Just a quick note, our website www.openweb.co.za will be down from 22:00 to around 02:00 tonight, as we are upgrading the core network.

This will not affect connectivity of ADSL accounts at all.
