So any ex Afrihost users here currently on Openweb? Would really like to know how openweb is performance wise compared to AH, need to jump ship to another isp.

First off, where are you located and what are your requirements?

Here we go again, daytime is worse than dial up

Now again tell me IS are not doing this intentionally?

Cant run speedtest taking forever

I Feel your pain. Sitting in the same boat. Downloaded an image email attachment at 15KBps yesterday, on a 4Mbps Silver account. A bit better today as I managed to get 70KBps with a HTTP download. I totally understand non priority stuff like NNTP and P2P/Torrents, but the normal HTTP stuff should not be 10% - 20% of your line speed.

Exactly, I am not running any P2P or anything, just trying to browse

If it was congestion or anything else then the upload would also be affected.
This is proof that IS are doing something here no?

Bloody disgraceful

Or you won't be able to get 400KBps + on YouTube. It's shaping, no questions about it. Video streaming is my number 1 priority along with the occasional Guild Wars 2 and PlayStation multiplayer.
The thing is I have exams approaching and will have study leave where I plan to study from home, and being IT exams, you know how important forums and such are for getting those last minute cram sessions in.
HTTP was so slow yesterday that you could actually see individual images downloading, can't remember the last time I saw that with ADSL. This all from websites hosted at Hetzner.

Don't get me wrong. I love OpenWeb. I've been everywhere, and no other ISP has even been this good when it comes to overall quality, but I just wish the daytime from the last week can be a thing of the past.

I work from home and browsing is definitely slow during the day. I just got this openweb account (the gamers king one) Not sure about downloading, steam seems fine, update for SWTOR is going at 11KB/s :( As I work from home I rely on gmail and it is completely unusable, this has been going on for a few days now. Should I go back to Mweb? as there service at least works during the day (during the day when people like me want to use the internet!)

All browsing is slow, local and international. As I work from home I want to play games during breaks and the ping is terrible (over 350) I thought this was a gamers king bundle? I must say though when it works everything is great (sub 200 ping) but that is only early in the morning or late in the evening. I just want internet that works during the day, when I use it most.

Also on Gamers King ~4mbs and daytime speeds have been horrifying the last week, yet in the evening everything is dandy.

Shaping will be enforced during peak times, as previously explained.

May I suggest you consider one of our Capped products if you would like full speed 24 / 7.

MrBeep?
These are not isolated issues. IS are deliberately doing this
