Depends on the network load. I experience the same problem during the day where my ping can vary between it's usual 175 and 250 (or higher). It's generally rock solid at 175 after hours though.

I care how much I've used.
It's worthwhile knowing how much data I consume in a month, in case I want to swich to a capped account at some point. I use NetSpeedMonitor to keep track of my usage. It's not very accurate, but it gives me a fair idea of how much data I consume on my main PC.
I'm not one of those users who tries to use as much as they can just for the fun of it. I only download what I want or need. Even so, usage stats can be beneficial.

Well its best you just go to Mweb then! Or PM MrBeep and he will flick some switches and you can see your usage, but then you will be shaped and throttled to the speed of a 56k modem

My usage is monitored through my pfSense firewall. Best piece of software I've installed in a while.
My LoL pings were also erratic. 230+ even after hours. But lately they have gone down to 210-215 and when im lucky around 199. Which server do you play on? My pings are from EU West.

Openweb FIX your damn network or you product page. I can NOT be shaped to death and unable to use gmail and not be able to use low bandwith programs such as games.

It is damn misleading to say priority gaming, when you shape it to death. I am fairly sure that is illegal.
And now for the disclaimer that I should always use when dealing with their support:
1) Not my line afrihost works fine
2) not my line or router as I have a spare one that does the same
3) Not my line as you guys have changed "networks" multiple times each with different results
4) Not my line as the latest account worked well till monday, when I got dc'ed from your network and could not log in again till you reset my password
5) Not my line as I am now fairly sure that after months of this and 30 or so calls to telkom can onfirm this.
EUW the pings are stable on afrihost, they have server issues on their side but they are busy upgrading their data centre. Usually you can see it is on their side if everyone complains of lag, but 99% of the time it is just me lagging. Got into plat, and I have to play a test normal game before I even attempt to try a ranked your team will just rage at you if you say you are lagging.

that from what i can undertand from what i read (well quick read on a site)
and then u can monitor the usage of every pc/phone in the house from the router?

My bad, I'm usually pretty good at picking up on sarcasm, but I guess I'm a bit off today. There's no doubt that usage stats can be useful, but with Openweb, I think you're better off using your own tools to monitor your stats. That way you won't have to make the tradeoff of account performance for usage stats.
At least that's the way I see it.

So what is the deal with the high latency... seems to be a common trend.
When I was with MWEB, 20mS pings(local) and 135mS pings (int'l) were common.
If OpenWeb is significantly worse than that, then its useless to me.

I think I already declined your offer, why on earth do I want to be moved to a per account and be throttled and shaped. I simply asked where I could see my usage. Every ISP I have used thus far has this feature, capped or uncapped.
And you do seem rather edgy in fact borderline rude. Do you often get irritated easily by your customers?
