Telkom upgraded my 384kbps line last week but I was having very slow speeds during the daytime since the line upgrade.

As with any other tech issues in the past, the OpenWeb team answered my email and fixed the problem promptly.

No other ISP Ive dealt with before has been so prompt at fixing a technical fault. Even if on a Friday evening or Sunday afternoon, Ive had my email queries answered and any problems resolved with minimal waiting time. Thanks to Keoma and the Openweb team for their excellent customer service.

anyone getting their account dropping on the is backbone?

it was a line issue. they may have upgraded the exchange to adsl2+ and the issues may have been related to that

That is great news if it's true! Some good speeds heading your way...

Still maxing out my line, full SSL no issues :)

Openweb... On Facebook posted you had major upgrades (didn't see a post here though). I just want to comment and say I can definitely see the difference. Especially during peak hours! Great job!

Torrents are still dead during business hours on SAIX. Seems consistent with what the other Telkom Internet users are experiencing.

On another note, those of us with SAIX accounts can log into our accounts on the Telkom Usage tracker and check your monthly usage.

Also, anyone on SAIX having issues with imgur? I don't have any issues with other sites, but imgur simply doesn't load on SAIX.

NNTP/Torrents for me are currently completely dead since early this morning (0kb/s). Neither one can even maintain a connection.

HTTP appears to be fine though.

My Speed was fine, I was downloading a driver from Dell's website, it was going well (100kb/s on my 1mbps line), then all of a sudden, the speed dropped down to 5kb/s.

I did a tracert to mybb:

Code:
Tracing route to www.mybroadband.co.za [41.203.21.137]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

Trace complete.

I also did a speedtest, South Africa as the server location:

Test conducted on Friday, October 19, 2012 2:12:38 PM

Download Speed: 68 kbps (8.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 232 kbps (29 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 777 ms

Im using the [email protected] ADSL Account. Is there an issue with the network or something today?

Seems there is a problem somewere. I been flying for the last couple of weeks and suddenly my local looks like this:

Test conducted on 19 October 2012 02:40:51 PM

Download Speed: 86 kbps (10.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 286 kbps (35.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Latency: 720 ms

Really not digging SAIX. It seems Telkom is shaping the hell out of torrents on this one. A torrent with 90.153 availability is running at an average of 0.2kbps. And this is on a weekend.

I'm not even going to bother mailing tech support to log a fault, because it won't help. Just going to ask for a move. If I mail tech support about slow speeds on torrents they're probably just going to tell me torrents are blazing on their side.

When you guys are quiet, it usually means things are going really well!?

MRBEep how does your shaping work??? do you guys have a rolling limit???or is it per protocol???
