If you are not happy with IS, then simply request a move.

You are posting here every few minutes, where an email to us will resolve your problem at a much quicker speed.

I am inviting you to email [email protected] . Please provide me with regular feedback so that the issue can be fixed. Posting here will not resolve the issue if we do not receive direct feedback from you i'm afraid

Typical SA quality of service.

One can imagine our frustration when some of us were shunted onto the IS network without warning. I feel like an unwilling beta tester.

MrBEEP, I dont think he was meaning Openweb's service - I think he was referring to the level of service IS is giving all of us, including our Service Providers regarding their (IS) policies.

If the client is not happy with IS, we can move him to another network.

That's what I meant, I was moaning about IS, pretty much everyone I know personally and read on the forums, IS have a long track record of dodgy service, throughput etc;

I also did not know we could switch to another backbone, since we were on DSL Heaven and then without warning were put on IS, so I assumed, wrongly it seems, that this was OW's new and only backbone. Keep in mind I was reading the Afrihost section last night and others were also griping about IS and IPC issues.

Anyway, today things are looking better:

International:

I just hope it stays this way.

And Gmail is working fine - nothing was changed our side.

Thats good news.... Hopefully all these issues do get sorted out soon. Unfortunately in most cases our Service Providers' hands are tied in these situations and all they can do is add pressure to resolve issues for us.

Going like the clappers for me

International multi-threaded downloads are constantly maxing my line at 350kB/s

Very happy Gold 4meg uncapped user

Here is my feedback on Gold 1mb uncapped today. Started downloading some nzb's around 7am.

7-8am 100k/s
8-9am 40k/s (I would be happy with this)
9-16:30 1k/s

Not very happy with this. At 16:00 I switched pc off and went to gym. After 7pm it is back to 100k/s.

Hello

This is because you are not using the new account I created for you.

The old one is already in the recycle bin so to speak, thus speeds on it will be non existant

Still rocking like a banshee on my side. :)

MrBeep, as a matter of interest. Do you still shape download protocols on public holidays?

No, downloads are unshaped after hours from Standard Uncapped upwards

I'm curious about the Telkom speed upgrades. Those of us on 384 accounts, when our lines get upgraded to 1mb, will we still have 384 speeds and contention ratios or will our accounts automatically get upgraded to 1mb?

384k Gold clients will automatically be upgraded to 1Mbps speeds.

Mr.Beep

I was wondering how the shaping and contention ratios on 6meg Vanilla uncapped compares to my 4meg Gold?

I am currently happy, so actually reluctant to change, but I'm currently syncing at 7Meg.

Had a bit of a speed problem today on my line and emailed MrBeep. Public holiday or not, within 10 minutes my problem's resolved. Now that's just awesome service!

Anyone having speed problems on International with IS back bone today? Mine seems to be crawling but local is fine.
