Was doing some gaming a while ago... Got kicked twice saying connection timed out... Ping was 12

Noted with a NOTE

Anyone notice heavy packet loss after 12am on DSLheaven. Happened 3 nights in a row for me.

I'm getting some latency issues late at night when gaming on DSL Heaven. I have to switch to a backup account if I want to game that late.

If you are experiencing a problem, please forward tracert's and supporting troubleshooting information to [email protected] so that we can investigate and resolve the fault.

It does not really bother me that much, hence I did not do any tracert etc yet. In all other aspects I am perfectly happy with the account.

Been following the Web Africa feedback, it seems other users are also experiencing gaming issues as soon as it hit 12am.

Has VB fixed their issues?

Ive just had my line activated again , had telkom check the line and no issues their side, its on 4mb/s line speed

speedtest.net - 0.53mb/s took about 3 mins to make the speedtest available
IS speedtest - 77 KBytes/s

EDIT: Thank you Openweb for sorting me out, quick fast service!

Is anyone else experiencing slow speeds on DSL-Heaven today? MrBeep tested my account and it tests fine by him, but I'm experiencing slow speeds.
Speedtest.net times out (at the speedtest itself). Ftp times out or maxes out at 5KBps. Browsing is.... meh to rather non-existent.

I'm getting normal results on an IS account.

To confirm froot's issue, just got home and queued downloads have hardly moved all day on DSL Heaven. Shocking browsing speeds too. Anything up, Mr Beep?

Yeah I heard about their problems. I only thought to check it now now.

Changes noted.... my ftp is somewhat better now. Jumps from 50-80KB/s now (1mb line).
Http is still dodgy.

Edit: My speeds seem to be back to normal now. Thanks.

Openweb is THE ONLY ISP i trust in RSA, I have gotten really good service, great download speeds, excellent problem solving, easy to signup.

Everytime I feel I need uncapped net, I ONLY buy from Openweb, nothing else. In the future I will buy Openweb Uncapped forever if my data consumption increases.

Thanks alot Keoma, your ISP is the best in RSA

+1.

Thanks to MrBeep for taking care of my account. Did a port reset too and now it's flawless.

How is DSLHeaven on normal http downloads? If I take the standard uncapped does it run on DSL Heaven backbone? Looking for a 4MB account that is solid on http downloads and FTP.

DSL-Heaven is amazing with http downloads. Apart from today's network-related issues I've never had any problems grabbing drivers/files/etc.

The backbone you get with Standard uncapped is as far as I know, dependant on available stock with the different providers. You'd best confirm this with MrBeep ([email protected]).
If you are at all "serious" about downloading or enthusiastic about downloads, then I would suggest going for the Gold or even Silver uncapped. It has a lower contention ratio (less traffic on the network) and is more suited for downloading (larger volume).

OK, thanks for the feedback froot. Silver sounds like it will address my needs.
