This is how the uncapped lite works:
Unshaped (full speed) until you hit the threshold at which time you get shaped for x period that you're out of the threshold area.

If you only got it now then it looks weird. Best email MrBeep and ask him to look at it.

These lite accounts are absolutely wonderful if you stay out of that threshold.

I have just got it so there is no way I should be throttled so bad.
Will email him.

How does openweb gold perform against telkoms home uncapped? Telkom is cheaper, but seems FUP still applies which means throttling may be applied aftr x amount of days. And then I see the limits from 6am to 6pm, 6pm to 10pm aslo applies. http://www.telkom.co.za/about_us/mediacentre/press_release/articles/2011/article_1052.html
My guess is openweb gold would be faster? Looking at 1mb package

I switched over to 1Mb Gold last month (from 384 Gold) and in the last 15 days of the month, did somewhere in the region of 120GB, between http, Steam downloads, new Ubuntu install, and so-forth.
There is never any throttling involved. Shaping is shaping, but Gold has a lower contention ratio, so you will find it easy to access pretty much anything.

Thanks for the reply. Great to hear the good news. I have got one or 2 other ISP/options as well I just want to consider. But this sounds very good so far.

Is anyone else having problems with (Google /OpenDNS) DNS and international connectivity at the moment? This is on an IS Afterhours 4 Mbps uncapped account.

It sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. But I definitely can't browse the Net with this account at the moment (Posting this from an alternative connection).

Sorted out in less than 90 minutes.
Now that is service.

I just sent MrBeep a PM on your recommendation. I've been with them for 4 days now and on day 1 I got 0.6% of the speed they promised and on day 4 I'm getting 0.03%... One guy says he got 120GB of downloads on a 1MB gold account? I got a 1 Mb Gold account and for me they say a 233Mb file will take 3 days and 18 hours...

In 4 days I've had 3 sets of login details provided to me... So let's see if they MrBeep is worthy of the endorsement you gave him :)

Fingers crossed... 88 minutes and counting down...:D

Coincidentally, a friend did just ask me if my IS is broken (not that I am on IS) because he has intl problems. I think there's a problem somewhere with IS.

Not sure if this related.

Received this at 15:12

My OW completely down, I can not do anything with the account, currently on my backup WA account.

Yeah my OW uncapped is also down for int sites, cant open any in sites, gmail dead, youtube dead. Im currently on my WA pre paid account and all is fine

Yo Man, im assuming my OW is on IS, is there a way i can select the network?

@B3ns

Not sure the best is to chat to Keoma.

I'm just monitoring the openweb thread to see if there is issues on the altech network.

that way i can investigate any potential issues before it becomes a problem.

Urgh... can barely browse on IS tonight... Something broke in the last hour... Skype is blurry as hell and everything else is just crap.

I'm managing 3kB/s on Steam if lucky :(
