Openweb uncapped ADSL feedback

Hello,

Kindly email [email protected] so that we can investigate.

You should not be getting that result, it is a fault.

This is the performance from a 1Mbps OW standard account at 17h05.

This is the crap that I have had to put up with for the last 2 weeks since my vb account stopped working. I get told repeatedly that there is nothing wrong on their side, but my 1gb Afrihost account runs fine.

Uncapped is a myth!!!!!!

Hi Graal,

We retained current VB accounts, but have not signed up new ones due to the issues we have been experiencing.

I have emailed you with a possible solution.

I wonder whatever happened to MrBeep's promise that they won't stop selling VB accounts?

Only three months ago.

So it was basically nothing but an empty promise? Because I certainly haven't been offered another VB account.

As it stands now, OpenWeb Gold is really crappy and I'd feel bad if I recommended it to anyone.

No offense, MrBeep, but I was just moved from IS a little over a week ago. Emailing me another IS account is not a possible solution. The daytime shaping on the IS accounts is totally unacceptable for a product we pay a premium for. This now essentially leaves me with the choice between an after-hours uncapped account (IS) or a broken account (BCS).

I've been off the VB account for more or less a month now, and in that time my satisfaction has dropped greatly. I can count the amount of times my internet has worked acceptably (note, I say acceptable, because it hasn't been above that even once) on one hand.

If Openweb is no longer able to supply me with a product that has acceptable performance I will have no choice but to cancel the account at the end of the month and go find an ISP that is able to provide me with an account that performs acceptably.

As it stands now, my satisfaction with Gold is about as low as it can get and I feel I am no longer getting value for my money. I am tired of hearing excuses for bad performance and being moved from backbone to backbone just to continue experiencing issues that renders my account unusable.

The quality I got used to on OpenWeb Gold over the last year is not the quality I've been experiencing over the last month.

Do you understand why I'm so frustrated right now, MrBeep? I am left to choose either between using the BCS account and hoping the issues are resolved soon, or moving to IS and having an account that I simply cannot use during the day.

How's that for a 'premium' uncapped account?

My IS account has been flying.

You can't seem to grasp the fact that IS shapes the accounts to their reseller's needs.

No, you can't seem to grasp the fact that countless people on the IS network have been complaining about the IS accounts, in this very thread. :)

I'm very happy for you that your account is flying, but many of us have been having nothing but issues with the IS accounts over the last few weeks, and it's still not resolved.

My IS also just flies... despite a shoddy exchange down here. Usable day and night... browsing, email, TeamView, torrent all just work whenever needed. Only skype sputters with video... but expected on a 384 line !!!

Zero complaints or issues on my side with OpenWeb Gold and my IS backbone.

Have you received my email?

You cannot say "moving to IS and having an account that I simply cannot use during the day"

IS offers different profiles, shaping, contention ratios, based on different factors.

You have been moved to a new Gold profile. Please let us know if you are not willing to try this so that we can start talking about a refund for August

In that case I'll give the account a try, but every single time I've been placed on the IS backbone in the past, I've had issues. Both Afrihost Uncapped and OpenWeb on the IS backbone has been awful. The only satisfactory account I've ever had on the IS backbone is a 1gb capped account from Afrihost.

I'll try out the IS account for now, but I'm not holding thumbs.

Trying to get updates and drivers for something I'm fixing at a brisk 75kb/s :(

That's on a 4meg uncapped OW "gold" account.

MrBeep what backbones can I move to? I'm sick of IS already.

I'm on standard 4mb uncapped. Had mine @ the mynetwork IS but it was slowish during the day. They changed me to @openweb IS account and its slow on p2p and usenet during the day but come 5pm its full speed. I'm on the standard account but its not so impressive as what I expected but its not bad either. That said I am not paying for Gold so won't know how you guys are doing. For a standard account I got on special I think its pretty decent.

The IS account I'm on now seems okay, but most IS accounts perform well for the first day or two. I'll keep an eye on it and give feedback if my experience with the account takes a nosedive.

I'm just tired of always having issues with my uncapped account. :(

Why the question about KZN?

I am in Durban and have been getting ****ty performance on and off for the last month & a bit.

Changed backbones & accounts 5 times now just over a month and bit.

I just want stability & reliability on my OW GOLD account, that is why I pay for the "premium" facility.

I am getting jaded though.

The OW guys give a quick response and I really like their customer service attitude, but there seems to be some big underlying problems that are just not getting resolved over time.

Like Graal said, its fine to switch backbones & accounts but the problems just surface after a few days again on the new account.

The administration and effort needed to maintain this premium account is just not adding up. Surely this cannot be the norm or certainly acceptable for a GOLD account?

Tonight my downloads are crawling along again.

Frustrated, dismayed....

Hi Aquadyne,

Please email [email protected] with your ADSL username so that I can investigate.

Downloads should not be slow especially not this time of night,.

MrBEEP came through again in stellar fashion by assigning me another account. Flying at full speed again.
The service and response times are as always very impressive. I just hope this will actually translate into a more stable and reliable underlying service that the premium GOLD account should live up to.

Thanks again MrBEEP, much appreciated.

Client Zone login

Can anyone please assist me or point me in the direction to log into the client zone....or is the upgrade still pending?
I've been with OpenWeb since the June specials and I must say. GREAT SERVICE!!! 4Mbps Gold Uncapped

I know the following link can be used but none of the emails, login details I try work.
https://cp.openweb.co.za/index.asp

The only thing that bothers me is that I have not been billed so far I can see on my bank statements, can this be true? I have no idea what my usage is or if my invoices were ever processed. I gave all my details over email using a debit order form and used support a couple of times before but no-one mentioned anything. I remembered something about the June special being free, not sure though if there are any issues. It could be when there was issues on the backbones and they moved me not sure...I'm currently on a @openweb.co.za username

Please contact me

Nah I was just seeing a pattern with bad IS in KZN where some folk in JHB said it was fine but it may just be a random coinkydinky.
