[Personal Experiences] Hisense TV's

How much difference does HDR make on a UHD TV?
Im looking at upgrading my 40" hisense to a 55" TV, and its either between the Hisenes 55B7100UW and the Sinotec STL-55D80UM, but the Sinotec is R1000 cheaper :oops:
 
The Hisense isn't real HDR. If the brightness isn't 1000nits or more it won't be true HDR.
 
Okay Showmax is broken on my 58N5000 just sits there and eventually tells me there is a network fault.
Ended up using my Xbox one
 
any Hisense 65U8A users out there, just wanted to compare notes

I had the EXACT same problem with Hisense sending me a file that simply didn't work. Ended up having to take it in to them. Turns out the mainboard and the wifi card needed to be replaced within 4 months of purchasing it. I have the 43" model. Personally I would steer clear of Hisense. Currently I am having problems with HDR, when watching youtube the screen goes blank (via my ps4). When watching youtube via the built-in app the same thing happens.
 
So i went to dion wired to see if they have a 65b7100 on display to test if it has the same problem as mine, unfortunately they didn’t, but they did have a 55b7100 there that I could test.

And even though it’s not my specific model, it does exactly the same thing as mine. I set “Dynamic Backlight Control” to Off and the backlight still automatically dims on dark scenes. So since it happens with both mine and the one at the store it makes sense that it has to be a software error, what are the chances that it’s a hardware defect on both.

So @Hisense SA could you please look into this and get it patched? Unless I’m incorrect and setting Dynamic backlight control to off isn’t supposed to switch off the automatic dimming.
 
Went to makro today to have a look at the Q8600, but unfortunately they did not have any stock. I saw the LG uk6300 displaying a demo and there was also a hisense u7a also displaying a demo. The LG outperformed the hisense so far it made the u7a look like it was displaying a vhs tape. The colors were so dull I couldn't believe it. I thought the U7A is supposed to be a flagship tv?
Uk6300 costing R8000 and the u7a R11 0000.

So now I am very confused. Am I missing something? Is the u7a maybe not set correctly in terms of the color settings.
If the difference is so big between lg and hisense, then I dont have much hope for the q8600 (which is the tv I am/was actually interested in as from what I have read on the reviews).

Any comments /help please. I want to buy tv on black Friday by the way, so doing research now.

Interesting!

The UK6300 was on special at Kloppers in Bloem for R7300 recently. I'm also holding out for Black Friday TV deals. Guess I should stick to LG and just leave Hisense out of the equation judging by these posts. Still, interesting to read feedback in this thread nonetheless.

To play HDR from your console you need to enable enhanced mode in your TV HDMI settings
 
I have the 55B7100, already on my 2nd replacement (3rd TV) now and already days after I got it, it started giving problems.

Next time I'd rather pay up to double for a decent TV that would last more than 6 months. Never buying any Hisense product ever again...

What issues did the all have?

Thanks, was kinda hoping it was a quick software fix, guess not. I'll see what other options I have

Might just be my own bad experience as others on here have had good experiences with Hisense, but personally I wouldn't walk that road again...

Makro shows dstv content on demo tvs, hisense looks rubbish with these content. If want to watch dstv rather get samsung or LG.

U7A is old now its last year model, rather look at B8000, through the B8000 at makro is also dull with dstv content.
Where it shines is when enable dolby vision and play content from netflix etc.

I am really happy with my B8000 with dolby vision enabled through apple tv.
