4Mbps Line

Performance - Quite good, no issues with regards to speed or latency

Support - Varies. Mostly satisfactory, I guess

Value for money -On the Do level 3 package, the value for money is great, especially since they're increasing the caps every now and then.

Overall satisfaction - Quite good. As an ISP I don't have much of an issue with Telkom. But my feelings towards the bigger company is a different story (ADSL line rental)
 
Cut the prices to equal that of your competitors and don't just advertise the 10Mbps line and give 4Mbps- when you charge for something one normally delivers.
 
Uncapped is crappy sometimes during the day (not home much at all during the day) and uncapped 4mbps is over priced, the capped accounts are still expensive.
 
Telkom have double billed me the last 2 months in a row and they make it extremely difficult to cancel your service with them. The only reason I have a Telkom account is as a backup for when SEACOM goes down, but other than that, they're the worst ISP in the country.
 
Performance - Consistent speeds at all times on local and international - 1MB uncapped promo
Support - Granted slow response with phone service but overall happy
Value for Money - They have one of the best networks around but at a premium so cheaper would be nice :)
Overall satisfaction - very high

Support -Slooow to answer the phone, at least 20 minute wait. Actual support varies depending on the customer support rep you speak to. Some are really good, others are useless.
Value for Money - Pricing has improved, sometimes good pricing in comparison to others.
Overall satisfaction - very high

I'm a Telkom happy camper and never had issues they could not resolve to my satisfaction - that said, I do not believe Telkom is consistent like other ISPs with regards to user experience
 
Speed is acceptable.
Don't know why they indicate local bandwidth seperate to general bandwith available when they only allocate local bandwidth after you use up your general bandwidth. If I go to a local news site it should not use my general bandwidth.
General ADSL and bandwidth costs are still high in SA.
 
I have a 1MB line.

The speed is quite good.
The upload speed is rather slow.
They can improve their customer support line as I hold on for at least an hour before I can get hold of anyone in customer support.
The proxy servers they use are irritating as my IP address changes to often and I get logged off forums automatically unless I use cookies.
 
Speed is fine, no quibbles there.

However, what grates my carrot is the time wasted while phoning them over issues.

Also, the blended/local cap is confusing for most users.
 
Performance: I am suppose to have a 10Mb/s line but only gets 4. Shaping is like crazy.

Support: Never have issues except for that long menu system before you actually can talk to someone.

Value for money: R710 for line and 20GB adsl fastest is not to bad but can be cheaper !

Overall satisfaction: Never had major issues so will stick with them.
 
Excellent performance, always having a speed of 90 - 104 kb/s on 1 MB/s adsl line uncapped. hardly ever throttled with a minimum of 45 Gigs downloaded a month

Support hardly needed as it just works but if needed then sometimes waiting 3 to 4 hours is a ridiculous time to get through to someone .

Pricing is a bit steep, needs a reduction or adsl line speed upgrade

Satisfaction = 4/5 unless pricing is reduced or adsl line speed upgrade for a 5/5

Performance (speed and latency): As advertised. Nothing special, but not problematic.

Support: Leaves a lot to be desired. Occassionally get someone who knows what's going on, but occassionally get a completely clueless person that needs to assist.

Value for money: You get what you pay for.

Overall satisfaction: No need to change in the immediate future.
 
Performance - Fair
Support - Fair/No comment. (Have only had to call them one or twice since getting 4mbps, and that was not ISP related but to do with the ADSL service)
Value for money - Good. Big caps and bundled as Do Broadband 3 package quite cheap at R141 for the ISP portion, assuming R413 for the ADSL portion.
Overall satisfaction - Fair

Having two usernames so that one can access local bandwidth cap and blended cap at will would be preferable.
 
I have a Do3 package.

I voted Fair. I am getting what I paid for.

The performance has been great:- Full speed and acceptable to low latency.

I can't comment on the support as I have not had to contact them for help.

The product is over-priced in my opinion, when compared to international ISPs.

I can't complain about the product itself, it is just the pricing of the product which is the issue. We should be paying this much for a 4mb uncapped service!
 
Service works as promised. I have no complaints and I am a heavy user... Well done Telkom.
