Vodacom-First b*tch about VC in 3 years..!

December I run out of bundle on 20th..I want to download 600 Megs..I buy an additional 1 Gig topup (contract).
10minutes later I check and I have my 1 Gig top up so I download my 600 Meg..
My invoice arrives...300 Meg out of bundle Im charged for!!
Damn VC,Thanks a ton!!:eek::(:(

Ask 155 to explain what happened, they can look at your account. Sounds like the bundle purchase did not go through and, if so, they'll credit you.

i had a similiar situation last year, i contact customer service and they told me u should actually wait for a couple of hours before start using the bundle after purchased, but they did refund me.
 
I actually waited and checked until the bundle showed on my account.
Once I saw that I continued to download thinking Id side stepped the evil one..You know,the R1.20 per Meg ?
 
Are contract bundles not pro-rata in the first month i.e. a bundle purchased on the 20th would result in 1Gb / 3 = approx 300Mb i.e of the 600Mb download 300Mb would be at the out of bundle rate. Looks like the the bundle was not treated as an ad-hoc bundle.
 
I'm sensing you did not disconnect, but just suspended your downloads, bought the data bundle, and without disconnecting & reconnecting [to force switching to the new data bundle], continued downloading when the new data bundle showed as active, correct? - nothing wrong with that from a customer's POV, but I suspect the billing system did not see the new data bundle if you did not disconnect after buying a new data bundle.


Bingo !! I did not dis- connect first.

Got a call from VC today and they're looking into it after I logged a query.
 
I am noticing that my usage for Jan is being calculated from Mid December which is putting me close to being Locked even though i havent used half the usage im supposed to get. Very Confusing :confused::confused:
 
ok so its contract.
almost every member that MWeb has.
on the vodacom4me page if i pull a report for this month (current feb) it starts counting usage on 15december.
apn would be internet
 
i have refered to them. No help since they are unable to explain why the usage counter started on 15december. as December's usage was counted until 31 December.
 
I have a similar problem. At the beginning of January, I checked the remaining balance for December and it was +- 47MB that was left over. A few days later and for the next couple of days, I checked to see what I had used for January and no usage was displayed. I again checked today (21/01/2008) and now it says Decembers remaining balance is 0.00 and when I created a report for Januaries usage, it is backdated to the 19/12/2008 and says I overused my bundle and an amount of R 171.10 is outstanding. I then created a report for December and according to that, there was 47.19MB remaining which lines up with the first given amount. The other anomaly is the times given in the January report for the backdated dates in December, all except one being 11:55:00 PM.

Obviously this is incorrect.

Vodacom obviously had a problem at the end of the 2007 year with their internet usage monitoring and have subsequently made up usage figures and backdated this and are charging amounts that are invalid.

I have a Vodacom 2GB 3G HSDPA contract I have software on my PC that records the times and internet traffic usage (Netmeter). These correspond to the December report but obviously not to the backdated dates in the January report.

Please advise as this appears to be fraudulent on Vodacoms behalf.

Ive have been quering my statement for December for a week or two now..Today a bloke phones me and sys,sorry,you have to pay coz the system says so..
He also tells me that Jan usage is already over my 2 Gig and my bill stands at R908.00 already !!!!!!!!!!!!!
My v4me account says I still have 800 Megs left for Jan.! How do I trust all this again?
3 friggin years of no problems and VC **** it up in 2 months !

To top it all,I print a statement off V4Me and at the bottom it says Total Due R4419.16 Bloody cents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I might just give up VC after this.

you must kidding me if VC is charging you all those. i would have gotten a heart attack by now. I have a similar problem. Decemberf and January is totally mixed up and its confusing me:eek:

i recommend everyone to go prepaid as to be sure of ending up like big kriss. you safe of being charged for vc's fault. is Vodacom doing it on purpose to confuse us and screw us, leech us, sucks us until they can't suck no more.

that is unfair business practises and they should be dealt with a harsh fine are reimburse the incumbent with the full month usage and an extra 1gig to please us.

what do you guys think
 
Out of interest - do 155 take as long as the rest of Vodacom to answer ... ?

If aqnything is wrong with my Vodacom, I want to kill ... not because of the downtime itself, but because I know I need to spend time holding for an agent ...
 
@v3g, it sounds like there might be a general problem here - including the CDB billing for VSP customers...

If I don't get the contact details, I can't forward anything. Often I get PM's with just a number (if I'm lucky). I have now stopped PM'ing back to ask for more details.

After 2 weeks of "investigating" my exorbitant account for December,some miscreant comes back to me ,e-mails me an Xls worksheet containing data usage and says tough ****,you pay.
Although I waited for the add hoc to SHOW on my account on V4ME before using it,it HAD NOT BEEN APPROVED by the billing dept yet.
So Im merrily busy downloading 300Megs out of bundle..

Now for January`s surprise ! During this "investigation" it comes to light that for 12 days in a row ,at precisely 11.53 pm,and for 24 minutes at a time,data flowed via my IP and account.My account stands at R900.00 ALREADY ! This excludes my contract for the month !

Let the battle commence !!!!

After 3 years Im canceling my contract and going PP.

I asked some people to look at your situation. Have they come back to you. Would be in the last 24 hours.

There was a general stuffup with some accounts in December, spilling over into January. Basically a number of subs were not billed in December and it reflected in Jan.

The Call Desk is busy sorting it and making contact with those affected to explain what went wrong.

It's not the excessive data that you saw though.

Ive had so many people phone me over the last few days and not one has a credible explanation for me.The lsat call came not an hour ago telling me it was the Billing dept that took 3 hours to activate my add hoc.This was after I waited for it to show on my account on V4me.
Not a problem,Ill pay.Its the last time though,Im canceling and going pre paid.That way I know when I dont have data to use.


No one can tell me what data flowed on my IP at 11.53 every night for 12 nights in a row.
Its been suggested I have a trojan opening ports at this time of night.Strange as I ALWAYS switch EVERYTHING off at the mains at about 10 every night as Im aware and cagey for this very same reason.Im on a router and I dont trust it being left powered on all night.
Gees,This is tiring trying to get something from Vodacom.Im just tired of it all.
