Problem: Delayed Billing for Contract Data usage for December 2007

Vodacom,you suck !! and have also lost a customer.

Checking my bank VC has charged me for their bugger up !!

I must say I am truly surprised that your bank account has been affected, as these "December" usage records havent actually been billed yet. Vodacom (VSP) bill tomorrow (sunday) and only then is there a chance your bank will be affected.
If you are not with VSP, then it is not Vodacom who affected your bank account.

Too bad I only found this thread now. I had exactly the same problem with my December account. I phoned 155 only to get feedback a week later telling me that it was my fault and that I should have checked my usage on the website, which I did otherwise I would not have complained in the first place. Needless to say I lost my temper over the phone (this was the second call, I was completely calm and cool in the initial complaint) with one of the VC reps, telling her to find somebody else to investigate and to phone me back. In the end I sent a pm to V3G who in turn forwarded my pm to the head of 155. I got a phone call a day later saying that my account will be credited as it was their fault. I was very greatful for the positive news, but the only downside is that I still have to pay the R1600 and then they will credit me on the next few months accounts. It is sad though that I had to call upon V3G to help me instead of the normal VC reps to sort it out.

Oh, just btw. Just had a call from VC rep, the debit order will only be for the R700 that I am due and not the full R1600! OMW, I am so pleased. Thumbs up on that one. :D

In my case it happened twice, both times when V3G intervened. The rest? Dream on...

155? 111? In the interest of assisting Eishkom to recharge your battery, don't phone those numbers...

When I canceled my contract I was asked "Why?" My answer was "because I can't trust Vodacom".

The response was telling... "o, ok"...

I have come to a conclusion here that pre paid is the ONLY way to go for me..
Yes,My account had been debited with the full amount after being told I would be credited.
Was I expecting not to pay the whole amount ? Yes,but then again this is VC were dealing with.
Ive now also looked further into this whole contract thing of mine.
My 2 year contract is over and I let it continue from month to month.
Problem with that is that Im still paying for a data card that is now fully paid for..ie: 440 odd Rands a month .Where if I was on PP Id not be paying for the data card as Ive already got one.That would be about R40 odd LESS a month?

Pre paid just makes so much more sense here..


My final word on this matter though must be directed at Vodacom.Read this topic VC and see how many persons DID check their usage during the said period and were still charged for exorbitant usage !!
Everyone is b*tching about having these big bills to pay,I want to know how and why Vodacom failed me and others when we used probably the only tool available to us to monitor our usage..
THE ACCOUNT DATA USAGE ON V4ME ! This did not reflect the true usage by far.And now its our problem.
 
Well 155 has got back to me and we have reached a compromise solution for the extra data charged for in retrospect.

Still, after being burnt, I am not happy that the only tool from VC to monitor usage of a bundle cannot really be trusted.
 
I've got a R1,100 bill waiting for me at the end of Feb ... that's a quarter of my salary :eek:. This is mostly because my account info wasn't updating ... so of course I kept going online and downloading etc.

So halfway through Jan I get the shock that my bundle is finished ... I'm 800megs over ... when and where does the damn counter actually reset. If I check on the site it resets on the first, if I check the itemised billing they start on the 25th of 26th or something like that.

my bill ending 03 feb 2008 for my 3g account is R11000, my usual bill is max R500 I cant understand this, have sent vodacom mails but no reponse. I am currently in Paris and unable to call them. please can someone help as this is absolutely impossible.

but i see on hello peter that this is happening to quite a few people so i guess other people havent recieved their bills yet thats why maybe vodacom is still unaware, lets see what happens what makes it more hard is that im in paris for the next 6 months
 
And there I was thinking that my bill was sorted out.....what a joke. I had someone phone me from VC to say they will not debit the incorrect amount (R1900) (delayed billing problem) from my account, but only the actual amount that I owe (R700). Take a guess what happened? You guessed it! The idiots debited my account with the R1900. Trying to sort it out now, but I know I wont be credited this month....:mad: Must stay positive, allthough its damn difficult.

The thing with me is that the debit order was returned, insufficient funds. So who is going to pay the R90 for the returned debit order?? How do I cancel the contract to go PAYG? My friday is just messed up!

$%^&*, clearly a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing....:mad: I suspect the credits were too late to affect the billing run, so it probably will be sorted but all the aggravation is not needed by anyone....

Won't both of you mail me your contact details again. I don't think I kept a copy.
 
I apologise for the rant 'n rave, but one feels so helpless when something like this happenes. I feel like just leaving it, but the problem wont fix itself. V3G, I really want to thank you for all your efforts....allthough you are not the official customer support. :)

As suspected the cedit they passed you guys were too late to go into this billing run, so they'll reflect next month.

155 will see what they can do, however, to resolve sooner.

Thanks V3G, hope it can happen sooner than later.....let me just find out what will happen to my debit order that was rejected.
 
Amazing that Vodascam hasn't blamed Eishkom for the mess.

A poll on which of the two is the most hated big company in SA would be interesting!
