is something up with steam or is it rain's shaping? i play with 200ms ping on CSGO. but i see it's lots of russians on the server (so i guess i'm playing or connecting to their server... weird)

My connection had a much higher ping between 6 and 11pm last night. It dropped again afterwards so it may be something on their network optimisation.

network optimisation would mean blocking or shaping other users or heavy downloads. But why would CSGO or steam be so slow. or pings in general? Unless they shaping or blocking gaming ports between 6-11pm (which doesn't sound right..) Since between 6-11pm is when they would charge you for data. If you use more.. then they charge for that data.

Fixed line Rain LTE had this issue for a while now. Worst times for me is between 9pm-11pm, it gets so bad I just go watch TV and give up gaming in general.

There was a simialr issue years ago on another network, adsl at the time. Their shaping didn't differentiate certain gaming packets causing them to be lower in the prioritization queue.

Nope. I tested around with various protocols.

Http - good speeeds about 80% of prior
nntp - throttled at 120kb/s
Youtube - no noticeable throttling, able to stream 1080p no buffering, was temptept to cast to my 4k tv and stress it but judging by the youtube buffer bar ( grey ) , it certainly wouldn't have had a issue going one up from 1080p but not sure on the 4k.
Steam - throttled to around 800kb/s
Didn't test torrents

Note that I tested the above both individually and concurrently, no noticeable changes. I then left it and re-tested again at 11pm post their window and everything ramped up to max speed again which indicates shaping/throttling vs congestion.

On a side note, I had a overnight downloads peak at around 3.4MB/s, which is around 34-40Mbps, twice what Telkom provides in the area for me, same router, same setup.

Was greatly impressed by the youtube performance but I'm probably the only subscriber in the area

My delivery slot was chosen as 8-9am this morning. Have not heard a thing since I ordered on Friday morning.

I guess they are now badly behind and we'll just need to wait for things to smooth out. I am in no rush as I simply want to test their product and am happy to wait this delivery congestion out.

Not if their online portal is has anything to do with it.
Mine still reflects my initial Friday delivery that came and went, even though I yesterday rescheduled for tomorrow, Monday btwn 10-12, but I honestly wouldn't bet a dime on it.

Try giving Sendr a call. I just called them now, but the guy that deals with the Rain delivery was busy, as you can no doubt understand. Shame poor guy. Waiting for him to call me back.

yeah... I had the Rain Fixed LTE (100gb one) I used to get a solid 50mbit to 55mbit sometimes even the odd 62mbit.

Now just different sim.. I did see 50mbit once or twice since yesterday, but mostly seems to chill around the 30mbit or 35mbit mark. <which isn't too bad>

but is significantly slower when compared to 50-60mbit. Also the shaping makes it that the speed is not steady.

so previously you would get 50-60mbit solid. now it will peak to 30mbit or 35mbit. With dips down to the 10mbit or 20mbit mark.

My gaming last night was super bad .. 200ms pings on CSGO

Sitting on RAIN "live" chat right now waiting...for last hour...for someone or a bot to pick up...to confirm my rescheduled delivery, as i've received nothing since their useless sms Friday morning confirming my delivery which came and went...

Rain is MIA

On Wednesday I ordered my 3 sims, for my family, I chose the date the 9th time 10am - 11am. To my surprice my 1pm I still had not received an sms, an email or even a call to inform me that there will be a delay.

I called the call center and was assured I will have my package on the 9th by 6pm. This did not happen, yesterday I was assisted on Facebook Messenger and assured that my delivery will happen yesterday, the time that was given was 14:00 - 16:00, guess what, that also did not happen. So today again, I got hold of an agent on the website, whom assured me I will get a confirmation email or sms by 10am and my delivery will be delivered by 11am. Well it is now 10:45am, still no confirmation.

I am being shunt around from person to person who just can't give me a straight answer, empty promises.

I am now quite sure that we are being scammed and that these deliveries will never happen, when I messaged on the Facebook chat, I am being ignored, calling the center ends up with the message saying you have missed us.

What am I suppose to do, because clearly this company is not planning on EVER delivering my package.
