Despite costing R200 more than the cheapest 100/100 option on our Frogfoot install I am sticking with Cool Ideas because the few times I needed support they were flawless.
When load shedding killed my ONT power adapter they had Frogfoot bring me a new one, very good.

Very happy with CI. I have limited ISP options on the Vodacom fibre network, and the fact that they are completely uncapped is great. Also having support on mybb is great, TheRodent really put in a lot of effort getting my line running (Vodacom didn't properly configure their network).

Extremely happy with cool ideas from the start, line always running super well.

I would love to see earlier communication if there are outages, scheduled and unscheduled

They can improve their customer service and also do a proper investigation to why the network keeps dropping. I have a case with them for 2 weeks now that is still not resolved.

9/10 Only time we have had real issues were the ddos. Not in their control.

PM me your ref for assistance?

Good customer support.
Uncapped, unshaped.
Altogether, I am happy with their service.

Many years of solid service, even with the recent under sea cable breaks service has been solid

No caps. No throttling. I can pay monthly with my credit card and earn those sweet ebucks

why do we need an isp in this day and age? Just a network supplier offering the full spectrum it can for a set price, cutting out the middle man would be ideal!

Yeah, Cool Ideas is awesome. I have had minimal issues with them and it is going on 4 years almost.

Very happy with overall service, not perfect but no ISP can please everyone 100% of the time.

Really pleased to not have been affected by the recent cable breaks and not too badly affected by the several DDOS attacks either, will see in future as I now play online more than back then.

Communication with cool ideas via email and then facebook wasnt the best when I last had an enquiry about my move to a new location. Having someone available on the mybroadband forum to respond to issues was the only thing that made a difference as it was escalated after waiting 48 hours after my first email, got a call back immediately once I complained on the forum, that call/support centre needs to be upgraded to manage the load of tickets generated daily. The facebook channel didnt do anything to help vs the cool ideas people here on the forum.

Connection wise in general is very good, no speed issues , always get a little above the speed I would expect. No issues streaming from any sites. Always have the best ping on local gaming servers and on international servers ping seems to stay more stable than my friends.

Hopefully if any cable breaks or issues happen again locally , it will be handled better. Last time more a year or two ago had an issue with the line itself that got damaged by heavy storms. Cool ideas passed the buck to vumatel and I had to fight vumatel for almost 2 weeks to get it sorted. Cool ideas should be the ones to push the FNO not the end user. By now would expect cool ideas to have the right processes in place to avoid such issues to happen now.

Pricing is good when compared to other highly rated ISPs.

Excellent ISP with very reasonable pricing compared to others.

I have or had the 100/50mb line with Cool ideas, but any speed test could never go over 45/ 20mb.
  1. Would it be wise to just downgrade to the 50mb line?
  2. Are Lte routers more consistent?
  3. Do Lte routers or providers throttle ?
