I'm still having issues here too. It's the one week anniversary tomorrow. I'll cook a nice candlelit dinner, perhaps, because god knows I won't be getting anything done online. :/

Desktop modem not working through Router but working through direct USB connection

Before the 'Partial service degradation' on the 2nd December I used to use my iBurst desktop modem connected to a network/wi-fi router (connected to the router's WAN port using ethernet cable).

Now, I can only browse internet sites, when I connect my iBurst desktop modem directly to my PC via USB cable, taking the router out of the loop. I can browse any site.

When using my router, I can only browse a few South African sites (such as iburst.co.za, mybroadband.co.za, google.co.za), but no international sites, although I can successfully ping any URL in a command prompt session.

Can anybody help me with this?

(I need to use my wi-fi router to access the Internet on my PS3 and laptop...)

now this is getting ridiculous, i checked my signal strenth (manualy as i normaly have the modem conected to the pc), since i thought something new may have been intefering with the signal but it was still 100% did a speed test, with the modedm conected directly and via the router same result speed bot times was around 0.30Mbps . If i wanted those speeds i would have gone for uncaped adsl, cost would be the same, i went for i burst as my previos agerage speeds were 0.70Mbps to about 1.0Mbs, which even at 0.70Mbps was perfect for me!

so whats the problem?

Please PM me your UTID and I'll investigate. (Strange that there is a difference between router and USB) (Please also check and fwd the account that you are using on the router and the PC)

Signal strength and signal costing are not always directly related. Please PM me your UTID and I'll have the techies double check to which towers you are connecting.

Additionally, please read the attched document on how to improve the signal http://www.iburst.co.za/documents/support/Antenna_installation.pdf

In the router, did you tell it it to use the ISP DNS servers or did you manually set the DNS servers on the router?

It could be that the router has non-iBurst DNS servers set while you PC automatically gets the iburst dns servers when connected directly

I have a USB modem and have 100% signal and had no problems prior to December with surfing, now I can not open any websites pretty much, getting DNS time outs and the loading times are abusrd.... Can you please advise what must be done here?!

Got really high international ping since this afternoon. not sure if its iburst related tho.

FFS iBurst!! Getting a lovely PING of 5276ms in online games. What the **** did you break now??

International sites not loading, DNS Errors, WTF is it with these #@?%$ people? It's been more than a week now, and it's cost me more than a year's subscription to this piece of broken cr@p.

It's time the CEO took his finger out his nose and showed some $$@?&% leadership.

I was able to load "some" websites. now i'm getting DNS errors and timeouts all over the show. If you phone tech support to find out whats going on, your call just gets dropped.
