*READ FIRST* iBurst Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

yes, everything. iafrica, mybroadband, youtube, any forums, any site, local and international...................anything and everything. And its STILL happening.

I have to refresh this page like 5 times before it becomes readable.. and no its not my account, my dad in the same house with his Iburst is exactly the same.. VERY frustrating... have accumulated almost 5Gb because its useless trying to browse with Iburst.. Im gonna cancel my contrac without the 1 month notice and get my bank to block the debit order..

Well http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...mp-Issues-(DNS-Throughput-and-Latency)/page70 for a start...

But as others have mentioned it's pretty much all over the show. Facebook etc.
It's gotten particularly bad over the past hour or so. Pages taking 3-5 mins to load etc.
Tons of cap left + live within 200m of a tower. The techie that did the install here ages ago reckoned he'd never seen a signal strength like what I'm getting here.
Currently even myBB as I post this is without CSS and took 3 retries to load.

AAAAAAHH! i cant even login to MyBB!!!!!!!

Oh wait there it works, lol. After like the 5th attempt.
I found that if you keep refreshing it works, but thats messed up man, not cool :/

seems fine this morning. The only difference between this morning and last night though is that there is no more totally hectic wind. Could that cause issues?

Yes, I had reports about gale force winds last night. All the transmission links are being checked. In Cape Town most of the links are microwave with some fibre in the bowl. The dishes on those links act like sails and will move even when guided.

Still having exactly the same problems today - extremely slow browsing, connection resets while the page is loading, no CSS loading, timeouts. I've tried resetting my modem and router multiple times, but this problem is persisting. It's taken me more than five minutes just to get this page loaded so I could respond.

I know you're not personally responsible, Ronald, but I am so, so, so angry about this now. This is the 11th day of basically unusable internet.

Mercy, have started getting DNS errors again... Storm damage, Rooi? Highveld had some pretty awesome fireworks past two nights.

Please PM me your UTID. The NOC is requesting this information and I need to log a ticket against it.

On some sites or all sites. The redundant paths have been doing a good job on keeping the network up even though the links were impacted by the drenching.

If the problem continues for longer than 15 minutes then there is a link issue that hasn't cleared automatically. Not aware of any in Johannesburg?

BTW: The construction workers with their backhoes on worse than any storm. Thank goodness they are going on leave.
