*READ FIRST* MTN Network Status & Issues (DNS, Throughput and Latency)

I'm still having issues with 3 of my MTN sims, completely offline since last night incl my main Data contract number, I'm in the garden route/western cape.

What exactly is the issue?
 
In Durban. LTE just disappeared. Router not connected and zero signal. Had to fall back to another network.
 
It's been a week having no LTE connection (Soweto N12), tried different routers nothing connects and worse my phone doesn't connect to the network at all even 3G fails.
MTN says there are aware of the problem in my area but cannot provide timeframe when will the issue be resolved.
 
Anyone else has issues in the centurion area?.
Signal is full but data doesn't work until I put it on flight mode and switch it on again. This doesn't last long and I end up with emails that come late and WhatsApps that haven't gone through

Exactly the same for me today! And recent days haven't been much better. Constantly toggling data and rebooting my phone to get a few drops of data to briefly trickle in.

Seriously frustrating when I could be working just fine on my laptop whilst tethered to my phone during load shedding. @AfriNatic

Yap. MTN has been horrible last coupe of weeks. Not sure because of loadshedding and they don't maintain their equipment or batteries or whatever reason. MTN is vrot the last while.

But then again, so has my Vodacom Fibre been since loadshedding 'started' again.
 
I'm suddenly getting error 503 on some international sites like reddit and twitch. Seems to be random. In Morningside Sandton.

I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what's wrong. Mobile on mtn via afrihost apn. Connection keeps dropping to the point where my mobile data is almost useless right now and it's been like this the past few weeks. Seriously going to need to consider another provider if this continues much longer.

Its pathetic. They absolutely useless. Now have to consider Vodacon.

You had any resolve yet? Not sure what to do here other than SIM swap to another provider. Not sure if Afrihost are aware of issues?

No signal today. Power just came on so at least I can phone.

I dont think Afrihost can do anything. It is this damn loadshedding and the towers that go off. Just need to find a provider who maintains the batteries and backups system to their towers.

Put some pressure on MTN to sort this kak out. Dunno. If I knew MTN were aware of the issues and working on it I might be more patient...
