Router Battery Backup

I have 2 old ET 500 gate motors and both have LiFePo4 drop in replacement batteries. Installed them and forgot about them more than a year ago no issues at all.

Charges quicker and last longer and you get a nice warranty. A bit expensive at first but money well spent at the end of the day. By this time I would have to replace the 2 x LA again like previous times. And with current LS they LA don't get a proper charge unless you have a proper charger.

Even mailed Blue Nova and Freedom Won and both said just drop it in and make sure to check voltage that its not more than 14.6v less is even better they said.

Yes, that is resting voltage @ 100% SOC.

Now check it when on charge.

Come to think of it i have never seen 24v LiFePo4 batteries here at the local shops.

What i did was i used a step up module and a 12v 9ah LA battery (still want to change to LiFePo4) mounted it close to the motor and stepped up the voltage to 24v for our garage motor and i used a adjustable power supply i had laying around here to connect it to the battery to keep it charged all the time

Got this one last week after getting it from onedayonly for around R 3500 (Also had some credit)

Tested it yesterday and got about 85 minutes running my tv and dstv. Will try just the tv and internet streaming when I have load shedding again this week, So far pretty impressed.
 
Question

Do you have leave the router plugged unto the UPS while the UPS is plugged into the 220v ? And when Loadshedding hits it stays on ? Why I’m asking isn’t it overcharging the UPS ?

you leave it plugged in, the charging circuit should handle when the battery is needing charging vs float

Yes. A decent UPS should manage this.

Hi guys, I need some help as I am not familiar with these type of things.

I received a mini dc ups from work, please see picture below.

My router and ONT are both 12V 1.0A. Can both of these be used with this UPS as there is only one 5V, 9V and 12V output?
And should I leave selector on 24V?
