Router Battery Backup

Bought the Gizzu 8800mah on Takealot for R750. I see its shot up to R933 the very next day. Was keen on the notogy but I didnt feel like having to set up a debit order just to pay for the damn thing. Also 1 year warranty on takealot which gives a bit of peace of mind. Any users of the 8800 happy with theirs? Mine will power my router and ONT.
It just works nothing to worry about, unless got high powered router

Eisiest for the lay out there would be to get hold of an old 12v UPS, rip out the battery and replaces it with one of Thor's LiFePo4 7ah drop in replacements.

If you have a UPS lying around, all you need is the battery (R590). It will easily do 3000 cycles. So around 15 years of Eksdom's bullshit if they don't load shed every day.

Or you can save your fingers trying to open an old UPS up and just buy a DC one which doesn't waste converting DC to AC then back to DC for cheaper:

But the beeping noise is enough to drive anybody crazy lol

Not good advice for anyone that don't know what they are doing. Plus the space that will take is not suitable for everyone.

I have a Mecer that only beeps when it's a few second from turning off.

Huh? What space? The batteries are standard size.
The space the bloody UPS takes. Mini UPS's are tiny , you can place them anywhere and carry them in your pocket around the house. Also a PC UPS has a fan and makes noise.

Why would you need to struggle? I have an old UPS that has 4 screws at the bottom. Pop those out, open the UPS and replace the battery.

The last time I opened one up it was a struggle as I had to get the front panel off which was just clips, very strong ones.

I have this. Is it possible to tweak this with your solution? I have a Zim electrician that can help me.

Brilliant!

Let me create a thread. The Mecer UPS's are by far the most versatile
