Router Battery Backup

But the beeping noise is enough to drive anybody crazy lol
That is easy to fix...

Just rip out the vibration disc in the piezo speaker - below is a video for a kettle but they normally have the same speaker. Stating the obvious, just make sure to disconnect power and battery first to avoid surprises.

Or if you feel like you need the warning sound, some prestick does wonders to muffle it.

Hi guys. Anyone recommend something that is in stock for my elderly mom please. She only wants to power her small 25inch LED TV (85W) and the Mibox S (?W) during stage 6 cuts.

Anything anyone can recommend that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

Thanks

You're looking at 5500 at least.

Want to use a lead-acid battery, charger and inverter for a quick-n-easy router power-during-loadshedding solution?

Learn a few important facts about lead-acid batteries while you're at it.

I bought 2 of these units in August 2021 (one for ONT & other for router) and it worked great for almost a year. Both lasted for 4-5 hours as mentioned on the site.

Now, one of them lasts just about 2 hours. Other one is still ok to ride over 4.5 hours a time.

I wonder if this would run my daughters fish tank - the light and pump are already 12v - %#$%#$ load shedding is wrecking havoc on the water quality - and then it keeps killing the pump because the pressure keeps pushing water back into the pump, even with two one way valves.

Something that is an inverter + charger may be a better option so that you dont have to charge it manually every time. Something like this https://www.geewiz.co.za/geewiz-inv...ter-12v-with-built-in-6a-battery-charger.html ; https://www.takealot.com/500-watt-i...D70587165?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclsrc=ds&gclsrc=aw.ds one with pure sine wave would have been better.

I’d open it up and see if it’s using 18650 cells, if so try balance charge them(charge each cell individually) and see if it helps, one cell is probably out of balance, has higher internal resistance or just a dud.

Man I've been asked for the umpteenth time, since if you're IT you're also a power expert.
So what do I tell people to get that will power 2 PC's + printer + wifi for lets say 2-4 hours (no DIY solutions)?
