The minister of finance (SO) has finally caved. When the girls (15 and 16) current contracts come up for renewal in March, their BB's are going to cell heaven (or hell?) and they are both getting S2's.
Took a while to get my wife to leave her BB, but she eventually did - and got an S2. Now she is after an S3. Girls are the last BB users in the house.

You are way too nice.

I would first give them a Galaxy Ace, so they can experience Android with an 800 Mhz CPU, 256 MB RAM and 150 MB internal app storage.

Then, after they have suffered for a while & hate Android with a passion, you give them S2s running JB.

They will do stuff for you that other kids won't do. :D

Be cruel to be kind? :D

mwuhahahaha. I could not do that too them.
The problem with the average user, is if you give them Android on a cr@p device, they may end up hating Android thinking it is a crappy system where it was the hardware at fault.
I want them to love it off the bat.

That said, they both have Android tablets already so they are familiar with it. So maybe the kakky phone idea could work :) :)

Sies :)

Ok, you win :)

The HD2 is damn heroic, and apparently you can now triple boot with it... All that is left is an iOS port to it.

Haha. iOS blows. Not worth the time IMO :) Would really give the HD2 a new found status though (not that it needs a higher one).

I don't know if anyone is having this problem, but my beloved Galaxy S2 keeps switching itself off especially after charging. When I switch it on again, it get the "critical battery life" window.

I'm wondering if it is maybe a bad app. If it is then a factory reset should fix it or it is maybe the battery? If it is the battery, where does one buy Galaxy S2 batteries??

Tks, and between the Asus and HTC which would you recommend. I've got to get my nephews each one, 13yrs and 16yrs.

They must have wi-fi.

Nexus (any one is best value for money).
Out of the 2 you mentioned, the Asus is the better tablet. You can pick up TF101 second hand now for about R2k. Bargain.

Tks mike, i appreciate the advice. Will look into the nexus as per your post. I especially like the "best value for money" part :-)
