Samsung Galaxy S2

So running RR 3.1.3, very nice... Just am annoyed at the lockscreen clock not fitting correctly... But other than that, the ROM is pretty awesome, and very good to the battery. Had 15 hours without a charge and only dropped 4% (granted, a part of that was without 3G active).

My new S2 is charging as we speak. I eventually found one at MTN in cresta. R189 p.m. plus R10 p.m. for top-up option. 100 free minutes, 25 free sms and 150mb per month. Data carries over for 60 days. Can't keep the smile off my face :-) :-) :-)

I was advised to monitor the data usage because they're delighted to allow data to run out of bundle without warning.

Besides the Nexus devices, which other two year old Android is still receiving updates to the latest iteration of Android? Possibly only the Note, which is a supersized S2 anyway :)

HTC HD2 ;)

Reason why I will never sell it.

And it's 3 years old now. Runs multiple operating systems.

Grats, dude. You'll need to bump that bundle up a little. I go through 300 - 500MB per month. That's with a wireless network at home for updates.

I never exceed 150MB Per month. Got a 250MB bundle. Also wifi at office and home.
I limit to 2G though. No need for 3G for email, whatsapp, etc...

I've got a Smart 229 contract from Vodacom, so get 150 MB monthly.

Buy a once off data bundle on the 1st of every second month, say 1GB, and it will last you for two months.

So for each month you have 500 MB extra data.

Different users, different use cases. For email, Whatsapp, etc. that should be fine. I find Ingress uses data, as does Google Maps, gaming, and several other things.

I understand that. I made mention of my usage as you stated it as a matter of fact that he needs to bump up his data bundle - which may not be necessary.

Mmmm....the new Sony Xperia Z looks an awful lot like a Galaxy S2.

In fact, it looks exactly like a Galaxy S2. Samsung should sue. :)

Perhaps I should "register" my S2 on this thread as well.
I just got an 8 month old phone in excellent condition with a hard cover and screen protector. I had to do a sim swap as my old sim card (28 k) does not want to work in the S2. So I have to wait a while for everything to kick in.
So far I like what I see.

help!!! when i transferred my SIM from the old phone MTN sent me a message showing MMS and WAP settings saying i should save them to my new phone. for the life of me i can't find the MTN message :o :o

it's not in "messages" it's not in "gmail" - and of course i don't have sms yet 'cos i haven't run that message!!!

P.S. tks for the data advice, i'll see how i go.

Once you've got the service centre number on your phone, you can just request that MTN send you the message again.

that number is for voicemail (maybe i did something wrong) but *123*13# requests a resend of the settings.

now i'm back to square one - where's the blerry message - yellow envelope shows in top left corner over the blue settings icon. there's also a grey "download arrow".

i've tapped the screen, smacked the screen, rotated the screen, threatened to throw the phone against a wall - i just cannot access that message.

my gmail's set up and working - it's not there, it's not in the other "messages" folder.

BTW i'm running off wi-fi ATM.

I FOUND THEM!!!!! i've no idea where they are but i happened upon them, thanks anyway guys. cheers
