I am so cheesed off that Samsung wont release an official Kitkat ROM for the S2.

Yeah, it's a shame that they drop support for devices. Strangely enough, you would think that if you bought a Google device, you would always get the updates. My friend has a Nexus S and didn't get Kit Kat. Google officially announced that the Nexus is out of the 18 month upgrade window. A shame though since 4.4 is less power hungry and would have made that phone a lot better.

Where in Gauteng can I get an extended battery for the S2?

Running Cyanogenmod 10.1 stable as my daily driver by the way and the handset is running great.

Need some help please guys. My friend tried to flash the new CWM on his SIII, then the phone should a blue screen with black lines. His touch stopped working. He reflashed the stock Samsung ROM, but the touchscreen still does not work.

He Googled and apparently the digitizer is broken or something.

Have you guys experienced this?

Can it be fixed?

I mean it's a software issue, you should be able to fix it.

Impossible to use my S2 after using my Note 2 for the last two months.

I realise now that I can never use a phone with a display smaller than 5'' again. :(

It does look great!!

However, I would not buy any phone now, as the Galaxy S5 unboxing event is the 24th of Feb.

I reckon it will be an epic phone.

Only 19 days to go. ;)

It will come with an epic price as well ;)

That's why I will probably always fall back to the N5.

Have to agree with you ... I guestimate at around R12k and to be honest, is it really worth it?

EDIT: Sorry, this will probably only be released after our elections ... I change my guestimate to R20k (Rand/Dollar adjustment)

Nope, it's not, especially if you have to buy the phone cash like I do. I'd rather spend that money on a decent laptop, PS4 etc etc.

True that.

But since last year I'm already in the business of buying last year's flagship phone for a basement bargain price.

Got my Note 2 on a Smartplan 150 contract for R299 from Telkom Mobile, and they are charging me R150 a month for the phone....so I'm effectively paying R3600 for a R8500 phone.

The Note 2 is a fantastic phone and more than capable to use for the next five years. I love it.

That's a good way of going about it. My phone is just aging now so it's time to upgrade. At the moment, the N5 is the best price for specs :)

Does anyone know where I can get a battery for cheap? It doesn't have to be an original samsung part.
