And now imagine Samsung "blesses" the S2 with an official Android KitKat ROM.

I'm in the same boat, my awesome S2 is sitting on my desk collecting dust :/
We should start a thread with ideas on what to do with old android phones.
It's still perfect to use as a backup for your daily driver.
I've cancelled my insurance on my Galaxy Note 2, which is a R120 saving a month.
My insurance is my S2.
It is still perfect to use daily, mine is slightly faulty though. It loses the wifi and network signal occasionally or if I tap the top of the screen. Apparently its due to some capacitor leaking acid or whatever, and the only way to fix is to replace the board.
Let me google some good ideas for an old android phone
Looking for a ROM to put on mine for my son, coming off stock jb. How is this one working out for you?
Is CyanFox Kit Kat stable?
I see the developer for Resurrection Remix is back. I am going to give this a try this weekend and get my KITKAT experience on .

What keyboard are you using?
I just installed CM 11 nightly and its super fast. I don't use the phone as my main phone so I didn't get a chance to find any bugs with it
Currently 100% stock with Swiftkey installed. It's a horrid experience
There's your problem. I installed CM11 on my S2 and it's rocking. No lagging, it just purs like a kitten.
Been a while since I flashed some goodies. Can I just download the ROM and flash with Odin? Or should I flash a custom recovery and do it from there?
Just not sure which recovery I should use though. Sheesh I wanna just NUKE this entire phone!!!!
