As I said in an earlier post, I am not too phased about losing "Drive 'n Walk".
I find it to be clumsy, non-intuitive software. When I get a chance, I will look into getting a version of Google Nav to work with voice navigation.

Nope, checked the postbox today, and still no cover or jig :(

EDIT - How are you finding 2.3.4? Battery life better?
Anything you are not happy about with the ROM?
I am thinking of rather going straight to Cognition S2 v1.15.

Battery life is better, I get about a day and half with moderate use with Wifi permanently on but Wifi does eat battery still.

Cognition S2 and Villain ROM seems to be the most appealing for me. There is a very nice paid app called SetCPU for Root Users from the Android market, you can create profiles for different situation and feel its a must have for overclocking/underclocking.

Since I have flashed 2.3.4 all I need to do is Root and start playing around as it doesn't reset the phone.

For a stock Rooting Kernel go to this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399. This kernel includes Superuser, Busybox and CWM use this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1118693 (CWM only) If you only want CWM.
Hope this helps. Thank Swift-wp for mentioning the CWM thread to me. Many thanks man :)

I'll would get it. Great for reading ebooks, taking notes etc. which is much harder on a smaller screen.

Villain ROM's seem to be the most popular and widely recommended ROM at the moment.
I just prefer the look and feel of where Cognition is going at the moment, and he is also using the new Ninphetamine custom kernel (upto 1.6GHz overclock  ).

I'm going to install that this week and underclock the CPU and see how it affects battery life and performance.

Cant wait for CM7, will most prolly be the first custom ROM i install. A lot of people are waiting for it just by reading comments on XDA

I tried that and I still couldn't connect.

It fixed my problem and did a back up of my contacts (which I can via Gmail Contacts)/sms/various other data before it decides to die again.

Kies really is crap software. Just flash new firmware via ODIN problem solved.

make sure USB debugging is off

Yep, I did that. I turned it off, but when I open the application, it still says "Connecting". I think the actual problem is that I'm getting and MTP error on Windows. I'm using XP sp2 by the way.

Connecting to W-Fi

I have been trying to connect my SGS2 to my work Wi-Fi since this morning but I cant.
Bear in mind that I have never had a problem connecting all my previous phones before (Nokia's) to this network.
After entering the key, it says "Remembered, secured with WPA/WPA2 PSK" then it says "Obtaining IP address...." and that's all it ever does.
I even tried to restart but same issue. Is there something I'm missing?
