Which starts with a black screen and lets you finger paint/draw.. you cannot tell the screen and the phone apart, it's solid black. It just blends in so well.

Yeah, would also like to get this. I'm not a fan of rooting phones, so an official update will very much help.

Don't hold your breath waiting for an official update. Install a custom rom, you'll get updates almost on a weekly basis. Miui is by far the best rom for customization. And the rom is rooted, so you can get a lot more out of your phone.
 
VillainROM 2.4.2 i reckon resolves the AOS Bug, also, make sure you have it, lol, ppl tend think they got it, but actually they dont... all process add up to 100%, if other process dont use the battery, then the AOS would be higher... just remember that ;)

this market enabler, how would i use it on a pc? i usually use the market via web...

Not keen on rooting my phone just yet, its only a week old and not sure of the risks.

I rooted my old hero once before and that went OK. how easy is it to do the Galaxy S2?

It's really as easy as pressing a button! I posted a guide a few posts back.

I haven't used it yet, but my guess is that the market website (from your pc) is sycned to the location that your phone is set to. Since it syncs to your Google account.

Why Google Earth, Books etc; are not available in SA normally is beyond me.
 
Hey all, some advice for my sistuation. I have a Galaxy S, all been good so far. So today battery was low put on charge. Started charging like normal and decided to look at layar. Ater about 5mins screen went blank. So i though oh battery must be low, as it was already on charge i just left it. Now i have come back to it 3 hours later, thinking all should be good. But now it wont turn on!!!! Removed battery, replaced it and try power on again, dead. Plug it back in, and i notice that the charge battery does not come on, tried via usb and nothing there either. So no i am thinking that either the battery or the phone is dead. The other issue is i am running a custom rom (Darkys) now from what i have read custom roms void warranty!!!! So now i am really worried if its not the battery then i am sitting with an expensive paper weight. Any insight????
 
Hold in the home & power buttons at the same time and see if it comes on.

If not, go to bed.

Well, if the phone doesnt come on, at least he had a chance to hold his dead phone with both hands.

I see it as a fitting end.
 
Take it back if all fails, if its dead how would they know that you loaded custom rom, firstly they will try reloading the stock rom in attempt to bringing it back to life in so doing you costom rom would be wiped off.

I have done returns with devices that were rooted and custom ROMS loaded and no issues. Just do it :)

Thanks guys, had a sleepless night!! Lol. Was worried about my baby, goin to take it in today if anyone is open, and hold thumbs that it gets replaced!!
 
Hi guys.anyone knows of a good app for internet video calls (phone to pc)? Skype from the app soreis giving me a black screen. iMovicha
doesn't use my front camera. Tnx in advance.

Tnx. As far as I am aware, G Talk video on pc or mac is not available in south africa as yet. Can anyone confirm this?

Dont get Skype from the app store. Google "Skype.apk Developed by theos0o Build v5". I use it all the time, works fantastically.....
 
Skype from the app store works fine on my SGS2.
The newest update adds video calls for new phones, including the S2.
It's a cool feature to be able to switch between the rear and front facing cameras during calls.

Can anyone suggest a good window/dash mount to use with a SGS2, preferably with the Neo Hybrid case on.
Maybe a universal one that my wife could use her Bold in as well.
