Samsung Galaxy S3

Winamp has a free android app, not sure its impact on the battery life, it feels a bit bloated.
 
After a intense battle with vodacom for the past week, I finally am now part of the Galaxy S3 club :)

Really loving the phone, especially the battery life, bigger screen,and it has some serious horse power, been using aDosbox and fully emulating ,doom, Jazz Jackrabbit,Tim, and alot of other dos classics.

The only thing I cant work out is, how do I stay connected in skype, it disconnects every 30mins, and messing with the wifi and power settings doesnt seem to help...

Coming from a dying HTC desire to this is like a dream, is it just me or does htc phones not tend to age very well?

The SD card isn't really an issue for me, I haven't really used more than 16 gigs in anycase, but you never know when your demands are going to be higher.

I really like the new look touchwiz, for most part it still looks the same - but atleast this time you can see that it is not a blatant copy of iOS (except maybe the S Voice part).

The eye following this is in my opinion the only thing that other phones don't have, so I hope that it is a success.

I also would have liked FM transmission, but I don't think android supports that.

There are a few apps on the market that work so much better than s voice. I am using Assistant, you can have basic conversations with it. Not amazing but it works.

The phone on the other hand is amazing. The screen is beautiful!! No lag.

It is a bit big to use with only 1 hand tho. Its a nice size tho.

I would rate it 9/10 (Mainly just cause ICS has a few things that bug me)
 
Things are coming along well with the Jelly Bean port for the S3, this tweeted just now from @xplodwild:

"Just did my first phone call on my #jellybean 'ed #i9300"

I also came from an old Desire, still an ok phone but it was getting really long in the tooth. They really don't age that well.

With those types of issues, why would anyone bother? You'd have to reinstall when it's fixed wouldn't you?
 
Guys I have a strange question,
When you want to dial a number, you click on the phone, start typing and then results start appearing, what I want to know is I type using text not number and then need to use space but you cannot or am I being stupid?

I don't even know what you're talking about "dialling with text"...:confused:

Ah, hadn't noticed that feature. I've been dialling from contacts. I see it gives you a drop-down for multiples though so no need for adding spaces...

Well then you've got too many contacts. I found that I had far too many that were linked via emails only and not phone numbers. I switched to view only contacts with phone numbers and all is good. I send mails directly from gmail and the like so no need to see them pop up in my phone contacts list...
