SAOL cancel uncapped packages

Here is WA's first "unsustainable" victim ;o)

Maybe I am being captain dumbass, but what did SAOL think people would do with uncapped? Sometimes I just can't believe!
 
Well for you wanting to move to Mweb, you'll have to wait till 1st of May to do so...otherwise you will have to pay for the half of April...

they were pointing to the new cheap uncapped not the uncapped that saol has been selling prior to the new wave :erm:
 
Just got the call, as I was reading this :(

Marlon or whoever. Anyway, as for them not being able to compete- what BS! They charge more! How can they say that they cannot compete vs Mweb etc when they never really were? We all paid a premium for this service- R500 uncapped vs R350 uncapped. That is not competition.

Anyway, they got their maths wrong and the party is over- time to say goodbye. As Neethi says, it was good while it lasted. For us, not too sure about them- shame :o

Now looking at SAINET (who I use for 3G) or an Openweb Mweb arrangement- not sure I can bring myself to use Mweb directly just yet. Am considering keeping line with SAOL- service has been great so far +1 to them there.

So are ALL the uncapped unshaped R499 accounts being canceled or only the ones that are using more then the average usage?
 
I don't know what to do now.
Keeping my line with SAOL will not help me if Telkom release 50gig packages with a 4meg line and im stuck at SAOL and i keep my line with them...
To everybody that payed R799 for the same package, do they now get 30gigs at the original R499 price?
And do the R499 guys only get 30gigs or keep their line @R139 with a gig and go elsewhere?
 
Well I called them and it's only the accounts excending 30gbs a month which puts me in the green :P

I just emailed SAOL again and wondered if they would give me 512kbp/s and 30 gigs @R499.

Hell what have i got to lose?

Perhaps i should go with the 4meg line and get a cheap 20gig package somewhere.....
 
Good luck to you guys who try and transfer your line back to Telkom, I moved house and asked Telkom to cancel my telephone line as new tenants were moving into the property. They could not cancel the line as SAOL still held the ADSL portion (takes 30 days to clear). In the end it took many phone calls and over 40 days to cancel my telephone line. After this experience I will NEVER give my ADSL line to any ISP!!

i have done more than 30gigs this month and every other month .. but still no email/phone call ... but must be a matter of time ....
interesting that they offer this as 'uncapped' ... never knew uncapped=30gigs .. must have missed the memo :)

Holy crapweasel. I'm so very glad I didn't sign up with these guys when they started offering. It's crazy that they appear to be dumping anyone over 30GB.

I think the phrases "pull an SAOL" and "do it the Afrihost way" should be immortalised for how to piss off customers.
