SARS E-Filing 2020/21

A little under a month for me.

I have a question for people who have had these revisions done: Did you have a situation where SARS said that it owed you money but also asked for a payment from you?

I was paid today. SARS used the set off principle properly and paid me the balance.

Has anyone lodged an objection with SARS. They rejected all of my WFH expenses
I logged a dispute on 23 July for rejecting all my WFH expenses too.
Haven't heard anything from them since. Don't know how long it's supposed to take.

I submitted my tax for 2021 on 7th July. Looked weekly at my online info ...

I notice this on my ITA34 doc (on the top, a refund date) ! Which was 1 August. (but it says it can take up to 4 weeks). So I am waiting. Nothing is showing on my SOA at all

Would anybody have any insight on what needs to be done here? I figured my return would need to submit documents for verification as one of the trades I do generated a loss, while another generated a gain, and overall meant I would be due a small refund. I did not claim for WFH expenses, and I am already a provisional tax payer.

So I submitted my itr12 and got the calculation and request for supporting documents for verification, however I realised my refund was a bit more than I calculated the previous day (doh for not doing a calculation before submitting), so went through the return and noticed I had made an error and included one set of the costs for one trade into both of the trade expenses. So I applied for correction, and redid the return, correcting the mistake. Now there are two requests for supporting documents, one for documents for review, which I already had all on hand and submitted, and one for audit. Both are asking for the same documents in their verification letters though. They've acknowledged receipt of the supporting documents, but there is still this outstanding supporting documents link waiting for upload, so what should I do with that, since I've already submitted documents for the first supporting documents request?

Also, both requests for supporting documents have the same case number, so still not sure what to do.
Got this back today.

So looks like we're all good? 1628691282929.png

Same boat. Still waiting... SARS already passed their 21 day period.

Submitted mine, decided to only claim for the rent portion for my WFH expenses to maximize my chances of a successful claim. Predictably I have been audited, but submitted everything I had,

Lease agreement
Floor Plan
Calculations
Letter from the company saying I have to work from home.
ISP Invoice showing my home address

Not sure if there is anything else I could have given them. Now the 21 day wait.

For the people submitting WFH expense claims for internet and cellphone....you should really be claiming these expenses back from your employers as a reimbursement, not as a WFH expense.

Yikes, any reason given for the rejection? Was internet or cellphones expenses only?
No reason given, and everything was rejected, including the internet claim. When I logged the dispute, I removed the internet claim. Initially, TaxTim's calculator had a line for internet expenses, so I thought it should be included. Wouldn't have included it if I had read the comments in this thread before submitting.

The online system for call back introduced last year... is that still active? I am getting the same error as if its not active anymore.

Anyone lodged an appointment successfully lately?
