SARS E-Filing 2020/21

So after months of waiting for my audit to finish, I get the FINALISED WITHOUT CHANGES email 4 days ago. How long does it take to get my refund now? I can't find any info on the site that payment has been made, and nothing has appeared in my bank account.
My wife has been waiting since the beginning of December for her refund.

I submitted mine in August 2021 and got my refund on the 29th December 2021. Last week I received a letter to submit supporting documents and on the efiling app, the status of my assessment does not reflect finalized nor paid.

My wife shows no verification or audit but app robot chat says she must wait for verification to be completed.

Months now.

Their system broke or delaying payments.

Their system broke or delaying payments.

I submitted my documents again and they acknowledged receipt . If they pay me again, no way I’m spending that money. Their system should already show that they refunded me and assessed my return.

Just an update: I didn't realize this, but they seem to future date payments which is viewable on the IT Statement of account. I see my refund is due to be paid in tomorrow.

They are doing this for years now. So holding thumbs for you tomorrow !

How many months did you wait?

Apparently, it could be a payment delays due to them overstating collections and revenue so its declared for the financial year ending 2022 as a surplus but if you google other blogs around you will see the same issues

Hi guys! I haven't read any posts here, so apologies if this has been discussed.

Has anybody had the experience where SARS accuses you of not reporting crypto gains?

This happened to me yesterday (via my tax advisor) - SARS says I made R1.33m crypto profits that I didn't declare....... now they want me to pay the taxes on that.

Although I regularly trade JSE listed equities, I have never bought/owned/sold any crypto.

I did an affidavit at the cops to that effect and handed it to my tax advisor - let's see what happens....
Ok, my tax lady just called and SARS has sobered up.... Not a word about my "undeclared crypto profits" and a refund should be paid to me tomorrow

Eish and I'm still waiting on my refund to be verified or audited.

I've finally been issued with an ITA34 after declaring a work-from-home allowance and SARS taking 2 months to do their audit.
Somehow the audited assessment, including this WFH allowance has reduced the initial auto-calculation on what SARS owes me.
I have 7 days to pay R455 to them, even though on net they owe me a much larger amount. I think this may have something to do with the adjustment to reduce the calculated refund?

Does anyone know how this works - do I have to pay them before they then make the refund to me?

seems correct? SARS must have now either valued your home office lower, or taxed you on the allowance

So my tax was interesting ..............

I had to declare my earnings in ZAR, with the exchange rate for the month I was paid, nada zip - I owed 0, got 0.
