The South African Revenue Service has ended the employment relationship with two suspended executives and will not pursue further actions against them.

The revenue service on Wednesday issued a statement indicating that after consultation with the group's chief officer of digital, information and technology – Mmamathe Makhekhe-Mokhuane – as well as the group executive of employee relations Luther Lebelo, the decision had been taken to part ways.

Both officials had been placed on precautionary suspension in recent months over allegations in which they had been implicated.

"The Commissioner, Edward Kieswetter has committed to the important work of rebuilding internal and public confidence in SARS," the statement from the revenue service read.

SARS had through engagements with the parties legal representatives agreed to end the employment relationship "with immediate effect".

"SARS will not proceed with further actions against Makhekhe-Mokhuane and Lebelo in pursuance of allegations against them respectively," the statement read.

I will take the win of them being gone.. but I disagree with the no further action aspect. They should still be investigated, and if they committed fraud or anything criminal they should be charged.

Right. So the next tool comes along and just repeats the same mess and when caught will simply point to this prior case and get no penalty yet again.

These people should have been prosecuted, charged, destroyed so that the next fool does not come in and loot the piggy bank with their bs yet again.

Thats precisely why I'm saying they need to be investigated and charged criminally if there are circumstances to do that. But I can take the no more internal processes aspect. I would assume a hearing did take place and it was a slam dunk to immediate dismissal so they both resigned with immediate effect rather than being fired.

I suspect Kieswetter has too many serious battles to fight and he considered this is not worth fighting for? At least he got rid of this useless piece of garbage.

On the other hand, I have a tiny hope that EFF will pick this up as they consider kieswetter as jamnadas's right hand? One imagines the headline 'Jamnadas lets people go without consequences, we will take this to Supreme court? "

one hopes.

I would suspect you are right, but I would hope nothing has been signed that removes SARS' ability to institute legal proceedings in the future against these 2 if there are grounds for it.

My problem is that resignation does not imply no further compensation.

Did they claw back any of her salary ? Did they put a stop to pension or 3 months resignation salary(or whatever terms there might be under normal conditions) ?

When something is not further prosecuted such as this it leads me to think that this useless person resigned on their own term and not fired thus likely still get all the perks of regular resignation.

They have every possible means to prosecute her , its pretty obvious. But I suspect this was shoved under the rug and off the radar thanks to some cronies assisting her who put her in the job.

HR going through CV's for an upcoming position come across Mmamathe Makhekhe-Mokhuane's. How do you honestly react?

I, personally, would have to hand it to someone else to deal with because there is no way I would not be prejudiced (excuse the grammar).
