SEACOM downtime continues

Because there are a lot more customers now than there were when their was no seacom.
 
I bet if it was the SWC this problem would have been fixed last week already.

then you wouldnt be getting uncapped for less than R50000000/month...

HUH!!
seacom is still new, they havent been around for the last 3 years!!!
ive been using getting uncapped for the past 3-4 years thru I.S
& no im not using those mweb / cheap uncapped accounts!!
 
Status update?

Surely it's time for a status update from the powers that be. Anybody know where we can follow the progress?
 
Yea, ive mailed Afrihost about a refund, as i have 4 gig topup lying around unable to be used....

I dont have high hopes though :p
 
Would I be correct to assume that this is why I wasn't able to watch youtube videos this weekend? I'm on OpenWeb 512 uncapped.
 
Afrihost Redundancy

We chose Afrihost due to the fact that they claimed they had redundant connectivity. Its now clear that this is not the case. Afrihost offers ZER0 redundancy on its network as there is absolutely no connectivity at all.
 
I'm using Afrihost, can only browse local...
I also really hope they roll-over unused data from this month due to the seacom downtime, but i have my doubts too :(
 
Wonder if it's fair to say this situation separates the serious ISPs from the Micky Mouse hosts...
 
i saw this on twitter updates, viewed at work.

SWM4 cable repair still in progress. Expected completion time is bwn 6hrs to max of 3days (via @SeacomLive)
