Oh really? i'm willing to bet that a good 70% of the guys on this forum started their carreer in PC's because of playing games on it. why else would you get into IT ? did excel catch your attention, or maybe PowerPoint got you addicted? nope...was games.

and no, it doesn't work the same with PS2 - "Make them" achieve something with linux on a PS2? what kid wants to use linux, when he can play games?! your post is just insane, sorry.:confused:

You're grasping at straws now.

1) Nobody is saying that owning a console needs to be at the exclusion of owning a PC.
2) Not everybody wants to sit behind a PC all day to earn a living. Some of us have social skills we would like to employ too.
3) Many console gamers are ex-PC gamers and have made the jump for their own reasons (which I'll remind you that we have discussed before)
4) There you go again with the "kid" definition again. I'll put R100 on the fact that most of the console gamers on this board are above the age of 21 and are gainfully employed.

Great then go sit at your desk and play hunched-back all by your lonesome, while the rest of us enjoy playing from the comfort of our couches with a few mates and beers. And all without installing crap and applying 500MB patches.

I don't care about the prices of games, I can afford it. And for those who can't, there's always the option to rent (good luck with doing that on a PC), trade or buy pre-played. I care about the gaming experience and actually having fun. I'd even take a PS3 or (god forbid) a Wii over PC gaming just because the PC gaming experience sucks so badly.

Personally I've never had a console fail on me, all the places I would buy from are still selling hardware/games and I've never payed anything close to R1000 for a game (and never will)

yes, the opposite may be true for some, as they sit alone infront of the tv, we are at a Lan, socializing with hundreds of other people and having events and inner group competitions (lol, Micro machines V4 was a killer, lol)

I owned a Lan too and i'm far away from a hunchback sitting alone every night...your way off.

I've been to many.

Why is playing on a pc seen as nerdy but on a console your a cooler guy wit friends and beer(with a couch, wow)?

I have a Ps3 and pc, graphics compared pc is far beta(dont argue with the truth). The reason a console last so long is purely for the fact that certain elements in the graphics are toned down or turned off completely.
