We have investigated this and are looking into it, unfortunately it won't be added with the new update.
 
check the reviews on takealot from the people who bought it, and maybe that will give you an idea if they had a problem with netflix.

We had replied to this, but it seems like some posts have gone missing.

Note that Netflix do not support our box, and unfortunately, that is their prerogative. We remain in discussions with them, but it is up to them not us.
 
Is it just me or does the Skyworth binge TV Box Firmware resemble the Mi Box 3 firmware? Even the spelling mistakes are the same?
 
Any news on the new update? I am getting impatient waiting...On the verge of sending this box back to takealot and getting a Mi box....Please advise soonest and the issues are quite irritating and the maybe fixes coming are still coming....when is the release???

Morning,

Unfortunately, while the update is ready, we are still waiting for Google to finalize their part of the certification. We are pushing this as hard as we can, but we are in Google's hands right now. We apologise for the delay here, and thank you for your patience so far.

This is true, but we normally get it quicker. For some reason this time around Murphy's law hit us and every possible delay happened. I don't want to give a timeline here yet, but if all goes well, we are about 2 weeks away. We are still pushing this as hard as we can.

Just received my unit today, and I am super happy with it. Installed Netflix by side loading it, and it was very easy. Then I used TV App Repo to create the shortcut for it. Works perfectly by using Google assistant to open Netflix and play something.

Casting works perfectly as well from my phone.

The unboxing experience is great for such an inexpensive unit, and the performance is sleek.

@Skyworth Digital Support I have been doing some research about Netflix on ATV's, and I see that lots of places talk about Widevine DRM Level 1 that is required to playback Netflix in HD.

What is the Widevine DRM level that the Binge Box has?

Download DRM info from Aptoide TV - still, the box has to be physically tested by Netflix.

Hmm, I dunno, the specifications for the MiBox is the same as for the Binge. I'll check if it has Widewine installed in the firmware, but that is basically a patch away from Skyworth if the Binge doesn't have it.

Not exactly, the OnePlus 5 devices for example didn't have it and you had to send your phone in to have it added.

Something about how it needs to be applied from an authenticated PC for security reasons.

It has, we have a mi box and it supports Netflix out of the box.
No hassles
