Skyworth Binge Android TV box

Hi guys/gals,

My skyworth android box just got updated to Android P. My casting had stopped working.

Did anybody experience this issue?

If so, did you find a solution.

Thank you.
I have a same issue amongst other issues since the update. Currently waiting on a rollback...

I just reset the entire box. Ran thru the setup.

Casting is working now.
Yeah, in my case I changed the device name back to HPA02 which fixed the casting issue, but resetting seems to have also helped others.

So the update appeared on mine a few days go and I was contemplating weather to upgrade or not seeing that a few of you guys had issues, so today I dont see the update and when I check for updates my system says it is already up to date, im still on oreo though

Happened to me, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Chromecast app. That fixed it for me

We pulled the update over the optical audio issue.

We are working on an update to resolve the issue. This may be released as a USB update for affected customers. Once we have cleared the issue, we will post and update and contact those we know are affected. We will then look at resuming the OTA program.
Good luck, at least we getting OTA's. Keep us all updated please.

the chipset in this box is a few years old already so it would be nice to have a box with the latest s905x3 chipset

You working on both the optical audio and HDMI-CEC issue?

Dolby fix may if testing works out be released to affected customers next week. We have it up and running. Was a small issue from the vendor. We'll give details over DM.

CEC is another complicated story. The implementation is purely up to the chipset vendor, and we need to engage with them on this, if at all we can reproduce it. It's very device specific, but we will look into it from tomorrow.

Obviously it would be very confidential, but what's the issue with the N#####x certification? Don't you just need to meet the minimum hardware requirements + put a dedicated button on the remote?

Also, any reason for not releasing updated boxes without Netflix? Or is the demand for that specific streaming app a roadblock. Personally, I'd like an new box with the latest specs + ethernet even if it doesn't run Netflix.
If you need to know why Netflix only certifies certain products in this market, that is an area where we simply cannot speak for them. Suffice it to say the hardware was fully capable and it is not a technical limitation.

We understand there is a market for units without Netflix, however the general consumer impression that any Google certified box should be able to run Netflix, as well as the fact that the app remains available on the Play store for devices that can't run it makes this nearly impossible to manage and maintain any semblance of a reasonable user experience (other manufacturers push sideloading, which also seems to leave angry disappointed users) or reasonable customer support. The number one query we get is "why doesn't Netflix work?". Add to that the fact that we can't use Netflix's logo to advertise units are not supported on packaging, it really is not a great consumer experience, especially when consumers purchase a unit, find out, then immediately return it.

We would much rather focus on other products which give a better user experience and provide good value. Hopefully these streaming services will revise their policies at some point, and we can bring in Android boxes again.

Anyone having an issue with the box coming on, on it's own even after a power off? Happening every night now.

Also, TeaTv constantly opens again after I leave the app, I need to start another app in order for it to stop. Any ideas on a fix?
