Smart outdoor security cameras in SA?

Damn - sorry to hear about that. No beams / alarms in the yard / garage? Still sucks though. The guys this side have been seen crawling to get under the beams
No security at all besides yappy dogs, at the moment I have Wyze camera in Garage and TV room, TP link pointed at the back door, kitchen windows where the guy tried to come in before.
3x small dogs but they old and sleep through it all.

This stuff is so pricey in SA.
Need decent stuff before Xmas holidays when house will be left locked up.

I ordered 2x so actually need to order another 2x, sticking with Reolink and hoping PO order arrives in the near future.
Does amazon ship to your door or should I maybe look at Scotts Shipping?

Amazon ships to door. Mostly Aramex delivers this far.

I ordered 16GB macbook Ram from them once, was pricey and it came via PO.

Might just bite the bullet and give Scotts shipping a try, it still works out cheaper than buying in SA

PO must have been a 3rd party seller.

All my orders via courier.

Also check thread on Aramex Global Shopper.

Forgot about Aramex Global Shopper, see I even registered at some point.

These cameras come from Hong Kong, would I choose a Hong Kong address for Aramex?
Never used it before and that thread is too long to read at work

Edit: Ok so if you in US they ship from US.
MyUS or Aramex, now to choose, seems guys are having issues with Aramex lately.

In the end I went with 2x RLC-520A (new model) for $96
Reply from Reolink on DHL was they no longer use them at the moment.

So had item shipped to MyUs and will use Fedex.
Pricey but still cheaper than buying them in SA

Person / vehicle recognition works fairly well.

I'll stick them in front of our house.
Expensive but I just dont like HikVision setup, we have them at work and they are flaky.

Really? Weird... My hikvision cameras are probably the one thing in my house that I've never had to reboot.

Granted I don't use an NVR with them.

Good morning folks

I have 5 RLC-420 connected to a 8 port POE switch. I want to hook back up power to it for the loadshedding period. I have Eaton 5E 1100VA 230V USB UPS which my ONT and Router is hooked up. Can I hook up the POE switch to the UPS without the running out of power before loadshedding is done. I have no idea how much power these cameras consume.

Get a Sonoff POW R2 and measure it, only way to know and then we can give you options.

Where do they record to without the NVR?

I think those cameras are specced to use less than 10W each, that will probably be with all the IR lights on. That is a max of 50W, and whatever power the POE switch uses.

According to this Eaton website, at 50W that UPS will last 45 minutes, with the other stuff you already have on there, probably less. So that UPS won't make it.

Can confirm

I used to have similar for my cameras,UPS would do 45min daytime and 30min at night
