Mine works fine with the solar panel. Even with cloudy conditions for past few days, still 100% battery.

But the wifi an issue sometimes.

Thus only POE cameras in future and plan to replace the Argus 2.

Have you tried a WiFi beam or directional ap to direct the Wi-Fi towards your wireless cam?
 
Nope but have APs close eg Unifi ACLR.

Its usually fine but sometimes lags. POE tends to be better.
 
Biggest issue I have with Ezviz

One not really smart at all, I mean they are pretty dumb versus Hikvision or Uniview.

No POE also and no RTSP

Second the cloud recording is a joke, it's per camera so R200 per month per camera, I have 6. It should have been per account.

Its far far far more economical to get a Hikvision or Uniview setup with an NVR.

So all in all, Ezviz, cute gimmick.

For me it shows "up to 4 cameras" with a 7 day or 30 day history.

I just wanted something to monitor my dogs, and it seems to do that pretty well, lol. Apparently my dogs are humans.

Is very easy to set up for someone who is renting.

I find the app and sharing a camera glitchy and some things are hidden away under settings, which should just be a shortcut.

But for a big system I will look at something with PoE.

Hell no.

I have a couple in the mix with a more traditional onvif system.
The camera quality is atrocious compared to my chinese camera's, and much more expensive overall.

Even the more recent g3flex mini is the same price or more as a chinese 5MP onvif capable camera nowadays.

By smart I mean facial/human recognition abilities and a snazzy app that makes checking alerts as easy as possible.

My cameras already allow for zones to be set, but I don't use its alert functionality due to so much setting it off. Even much higher quality motion sensing presents the major issue of having to be deactivated most of the time.

Google's Nest Cams (and the Arlo Pro 2 I think) can be trained to recognise faces. So they are always monitoring normally and notify you of unrecognised people. This is the sort of thing I'm after - the equivalent of having a person watch the cameras 24/7.

You're better off using cheap camera's tied to some NVR software running on a PC.

eg BlueIris or similar.
Zoneminder can also do interesting things, but is a lot more work.

Example of something simple I did with zoneminder in my office more than a decade ago -

Nope (well not by me, show screenshot, I mean that would be fantastic as 4 for R200 p/m is okey, so hoping i missed a setting, their App is horrible.)

EDIT: Yea no, it is per camera, no bundle options.

That same functionality is on Uniview (with better quality glass lense, bigger sensor) and POE for R599 per camera on the low end.

All these "Chinese" cams are moot, when you actually need reliability and low latency.

Both, NVR and Camera (they have easy series, prime, prime-ii, prime-iii and prime-iv)

I personally for the Prime Cameras and NVR still cheaper than the Chinese stuff

I suspect your settings is elsewhere

From ezviz: EZVIZ Family Plan is only available in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Estonia, Lithuania & Latvia.

Not sure. Just installed the app and signed in. I don't have more than one device to test unfortunately.

I paid $57 for 5mp IP65 Reolink with person / vehicle detection and audio. What can I get the equivalent Uniview for?

5MP Reolink != 5MP Uniview or Hikvision or Dahua

It's more like 2MP on a propper camera, better sensor and better components, also not plastic.

( I also have Reolink cameras, and Xiaomi and Eufy, they are all "nanny cams" in terms of quality and picture clarity not cut out for reliable security )
