Spotify not working

Anyone here using Spotify? Mine was working fine until yesterday. Been using it for the last few months, and now it's not working and wondering if anyone else is having the same problems. Hope this is the right sub-forum to put this. I have been purchasing codes so that I can use it, plus I have UnoTelly running. But now for some reason I can't log into my account. On my computer it says error connection and on my mobile devices it says login failure even though its the right login details. I hope someone has had the same problem and solved it.

My spotify won't work as well

I am having the same issues it gives me error 117 and won't connect via my wi fi.When I connect on my phone via 3G it seems to be working fine.I am using Telkom and Unotelly.Im not sure if Telkom is messing with the service to stop or usage or if it's with unotelly or spotlight.Keep me updated if it's Telkom I'm canceling my service with them immediately

Yeah, you're right. My ADSL and mobile phone are on Telkom. But my iPad is on Vodacom 3G. And that works.

I found a quick solution, but it involves using another service:

https://www.tunnelbear.com

You get a free account where you get 500MB, or you can choose an account option. I tried it out on my Desktop which is going through my Telkom ADSL. I started up the Tunnelbear service and it seems to be working. But if anyone finds another way let us know.

It seems to be specific to Telkom Internet. Other ISP's are ok. Going to be tough to convince Telkom to fix this.

Spotify Premium doesn't need you to use proxies to bypass geo-restrictions - why not use that?

I noticed recently that it now requires a constant VPN connection, unlike before where you could just connect to VPN, launch Spotify, then disconnect VPN :(

Mine did the same, so now I use betternet, log in and it's fine. Tunnel bear has a 500mb limit and betternet is unlimited, which is why I chose it.

No, it's not, but just convincing me that there is a problem doesn't help identify the cause and allow us to fix it (I will not be near an ADSL line for a few days, but will alert someone regarding the issue). If someone could post comparitive traceroutes, that would be a start.

Also, if someone knows if the problem exists on other services that use SAIX (e.g. Telkom Mobile), that also might help resolve it sooner.

The fact that it doesn't work on Telkom doesn't mean that Telkom is messing with anything, there could just be a run-of-the-mill routing problem.

(And no, we will not block any Internet service/site for customers in quota/not violating fair use unless there is a legal requirement)

Hi All,
I set up a Spotify Premium account USA (paid for using voucher codes) last year which does not require the use of a VPN in order to access the service. Once activated using a VPN you are given unlimited access from anywhere in the world as if you are "travelling abroad".
I had no access issues until about a week ago - error 117- when connecting via my Telkom adsl line.
I can still connect using a VPN and on MTN 3G with or without a VPN. Haven't checked CellC 3G data yet, must be a Telkom issue??

Use Google Play Music or Tidal. Don't know what's the fascination with Spotify anyway. They don't even have high quality streaming from the web only standard LQ streaming. Lol.
