I use Simfy, for the sole reason that it was super cheap. I made extensive use of a brief promotion they ran one or two years ago and added years onto my subscription for very little. I'm paid up until late 2017.

If I was paying R60pm I would go with Deezer. Simfy isn't a bad service though. The desktop app is decent and the customer support is phenomenal. Windows 10 will improve Deezer, as you'll be able to use the Metro app as a normal windowed app.

I'm having exactly the same symptoms with telkom as my ISP. Any manage to get a solution without having to go through a VPN or tunneling software?

Thinking of switching to afrihost, anyone know if the sympotms persist there?

It's only affecting Telkom. You can sign up for the gig from AH and try.

Switch to Apple Music when it comes out today. PlasmaPot will get a jizz in his pants if you do that.
 
I got so tired of Spotify not working on Telkom's ISP that I moved over to Tidal's streaming service. It's actually very cool. Very close to Spotify.
 
Stopped working again on Telkom. So it seems this problem is limited to Telkom connections?

Yeah mainly Telkom, if you change your DNS servers you may get it to work. I'm using Google's DNS servers,
8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4
