So my stepmother has control of our telkom account, it is capped. I'm not supposed to use the wifi as it is capped but I got the password so I can use it for uni. Last month we went over our cap and she thought someone nearby was hacking our router. I am trying to find out how to see how much cap has been used, but without logging into the telkom site as I don't have those details. I can log into the router, if this helps?

Assistance would be appreciated.

There is a Telkom app - download that and you can view usage on it,

Most likely a Telkom supplied one ... netgear ?

Well, hope the router supports stat count.
Easiest way to check for unwanted guests is log into the router and check the client list and see which IP corresponds to what device.
Everything except my android phones state their network name on that list. I think my old netgear also had a bandwidth counter per IP, not sure though.
