Telkom capped ADSL data boost: ISPs respond

MWEB ISP CEO Derek Hershaw said that they have no immediate plans to change anything related to their capped ADSL products.

“We recently upgraded all our 3Gig capped customers to 5Gigs, at no extra cost and this was a permanent upgrade, not a promotional offer,” said Hershaw.

Wow 5 gigs big thats so much !! (sarcasm)

not only competitive but also very innovative! Well done Telkom Internet!!!

Well Telkom is changing their capped accounts for the better MWEB is changing their uncapped accounts for the worse

Convergence :)

Afrihost, Cybersmart, Openweb and Telkom all saying something positive, and looking forward. Mweb resting on their laurels. Leopards, spots and Naspers, some things just never change.

“We will definitely be adding even more value to our capped ADSL products very soon,” said Visser.

^That I believe.

^And that.
:D

I will be moving back to ADSL at home and with certainty Mr Derek Hershaw & Co will not be getting my money.

Not bad...But I still think best value for money is Afrihost with their 4/10mb Bundle For R450. You get 50GB basically for R37..since the line rental alone on a 10MB line is R413 or something like that (that's if I understand afrihost's deal correctly.)

But not if you include the free uncapped night surfer from 12am to 6am that Telkom Internet include - for me this is a winner, and thats if you know how to schedule downloads :D

Yeah O.k...But I'm more of a want it now kinda person...Does not help my live streaming. ;) ( I'm not on that package by the way..Just saw it last night doing some research for my dad...) But yes...I I would like to see the speeds on that night surfer do you think they'll throttle the living daylights out of those connections?

Throttle? Why should they? Speed will depend on exchange and backhaul.

If you talking about Telkom they don't throttle at all, I always get full speed on every protocol.

I downloaded 10 gb's the one night for free :D

You guys are missing the point.

If you can download all you want between midnight and 6 you dont need an uncapped account anymore. Just buy the R99 a month 5Gb package, and just schedule everything in the morning. R99 a month for that account is a bargain.
