@AfriMan @AfriGuy Launch date?So i sent an email to openserve yesterday about their "Openserve Pure Connect" offering and they responded and I quote
"Good day
Our ISP partners will have access to the product from 15 May 2020.
We are certain that they are busy putting together some fantastic broadband packages for you, based on our Pure Connect product.
Keep an eye out for their newest offers or enquire with them later this month
Regards"
I dont have Fibre so this would be a game changer for many people with the option to choose their own ISP without paying line rental.
I mentioned this to the sales consultant @ Telkom over the phone, they ignored me, I think they didn’t expect it or awe of it.Found the OpenServe coverage map https://openserve.co.za/gis/apps/ispcoverage/ . It says it's for DSL and holds the clearly correct information for my area's possible sync speed compared to Telkom's map. This map also has more detailed information about sync speed at certain points.
I think just wait a bit, I also have a 4mb line and line speed was upgraded on friday. It say up to 20mb on my telkom profile now but fastest I have clocked is 12mb so far.In in the same boat, no upgrades here

Yes, it used to say 4-10 before. Is that what the (4-20) means? on the telkom profile.
Also discovered game pass recently. It can really make your data usage go up if you get carried away.Do they courier the modem or do you have to go and collect it from them instore? I have a 40mb VDSL line at the moment and a 200gb account with Web Africa Making my average spend about R1089. So overall it should be nearly an R200 saving and I am now "uncapped". Not really a heavy user, other than kids that watch Netflix and me discovering Xbox Game Pass.
Yeah comes with "courier it" couriers. They send a sms with tracking details once it is shipped.Do they courier the modem or do you have to go and collect it from them instore? I'm not 100% sure about this but from my experience. When my new adsl line was installed it was done on a Friday and it was pretty slow. I called the guy who did the installation and he said that I must just give it until Monday as the guys who work at the exchange will adjust the speed(guessing they work only 5 day weeks). Anyway long story short by Monday midday like magic it was at full speed and I didn't log any faults. Not certain if new and existing lines work the same.I called 10213 today and upgraded from my old 10mb uncapped package to the new 20mb premium one. Does anyone have any idea when the speed upgrade will be in effect? Lots of people say instantly but it's been about 8-9hrs and still syncing at 10mb (12mb).
Ah. It may be the same here, I'm guessing. Thank you for the reply.I'm not 100% sure about this but from my experience. Might be worth giving it until Monday before getting into with the mindless drones at telkom customer service.Ah. It may be the same here, I'm guessing. Thank you for the reply.

Telkom IP Voice plansCan I keep my voice service if I move from a DSL Unlimited Home to an Unlimited Home Lite bundle? Yes, even though there is no voice component in the DSL Unlimited Home Lite bundle, there is a product called IP Voice that is an over the top service that the existing number can be migrated to.
