Telkom Internet Capped/Uncapped User Feedback (Pt2)

Streaming was pretty poor last night.
I had to buffer shows for 20 minutes to be able to watch the show and even then it started buffering again before the end of the program.
480p low res files that still need to buffer to be watchable.

This is really becoming a pain for me now.
What's the point of having a 4mb line if you can't even stream low quality content.
And why exactly is the issue so compounded after 9pm?
I would think it would get better later.

If I recall your were praising Telkom couple of weeks ago and asked people to stop complaining?

I never told ppl to stop complaining.
I had a very good line up until the last few days.
Now it is sucks.
So I've come to the feedback thread to give feedback.
Same as before when I had a good connection.

Don't know if you've got the humidity we've had here in PE but my line developed noise last Friday and on Sunday the ADSL started disconnecting and resyncing at rates as low as .5Mbps. Tech arrived early Monday (nice guy) and found bad joints on several poles - all back to normal at 8Mbps and a very quiet voice line.

Seems the humidity escalated underlying problems but, then again, he might just have been humoring me :whistle:

Common problem here in Sedgefield-by-the-sea as well. I've seen telkom techs up poles just touch a telephone wire and the whole thing snaps off and falls into the customers' garden. Connections are all vrot from the salt air.
 
Anyone getting hiccups to servers in Amsterdam / Europe side? Had to restart my download 3 times to get a stable connection from my server.
 
Things have actually been relatively smooth for me lately, until 9pm-12pm every evening. Seems ~5PM-6PM it also has problems streaming, but I think that's because of exchange congestion.

Well I woke up to a dead home server last Saturday that had been running fine for years and had suddenly caked up with dust and corrosion, so there's definitely something to the humidity story.
 
I think Telkom is throttling any form of streaming from 7pm to 10pm.

720p fine here on a 2Mb/s line.

I think Telkom is just shifting the problem from one area to another. This week everything has been great while others are suffering and this was reversed a week before.
