I did receive the mail as well.
Browsing very slow for me at the moment and data seems slow to update. Not sure if it is site related. Busy with distro install on other pc, so will see how that goes.
 
its just Telkom that is giving this sad service:mad:... If I login to afrihost or fnbconnect I get the proper speeds on my line. :erm:Not sure if this is coincidence or not but its since Telkom started the roll out of the MSAN that we having this problem

Big Bean reported it here.

It looks like MWEB made a routing change on their side, and they seem to be advertising a more specific route internationally than on the SAIX peering link.

SAIX has logged a request with MWEB to correct their advertising of the /24 block used for these servers.

This is beyond frustration - you get nowhere with Telkom. Get home and the test account is disabled, switch back to my account and can't stream anything.

Phoning gets you nowhere.
Hellopeter gets you nowhere.
Twitter gets promised feedback and escalation - but so far, after two weeks, nothing has changed. I keep emailing them what they request, and get bugger all in return, pure waste of time.

EDIT: I can't even get into bloody gmail... and this with a 10MB line.

hi, im looking for that link where you can see how much data you have downloaded. not the one with the green/orange bar but the one where you can see exactly how many gigs you have downloaded?
 
Don't know whats going on anymore, can't stream, can hardly browse... but downloads fly, first time downloading this file, so not cached:

We had a repeat of last Fridays outage here in the EC this afternoon (not sure how widespread), the net went down at 13:4x and came back at 14:2x. Some sites experienced the same symptoms as yourself and we had to power-cycle the modems and firewalls to sort everything out ... but I guess you’ve tried that :(
 
Sjoe! Wish I could dl at that speed.
My browsing and downloads were dead in the water this afternoon.Tried to install Ubuntu and language packages showed 37684:56. I assume those were minutes.

I eventually rebooted the router and restarted the instalalation for the 4th time. It went much better. Browsing on my other pc is good as well.
 
Dota 2 having serious lag and high latency on local SA servers of 200ms and 240ms
 
relax guys its the weekend let the Telkom techs have some time with their families I'm sure problem will be ok by Monday.

I need to confirm that Glenwood or Manor Gardens Durban has ADSL coverage? anyone know how to check?
 
Wtf is going on?? ADSL keeps DC'ing. Got kicked from dota. Line syncs, doesn't authenticate. Is the net in SA seriously this f'ed up at the moment?

Edit: Managed to connect. Seems fine now. But latency on SA servers is still very high.

Edit: Friends DSL also just went down for the third time now. Mine is still up.
