TelkomZA

Aah I see with regard to open serve.

So TI probably the issue, if both CW and Axxess show 0 packet loss on the 3rd hop. Can you check TI again Mick, as I switched back from Afrihost to TI and all seems clear my side

Using Speedtest.net I usually get around 3 Mbps DL on my 4 Mbps Telkom ADSL line. Today my connection is so bad, and I can't even run Speedtest.net to check.

I managed to use "Speed of Me" and got a DL of 2.54Mbps

in CityBowl - pretty ****e with Telkom at the mo.

Telkom is my ISP, currently getting 1Mb where I normally get 8.75Mb
Testing with my uncapped fnbconnect account (4Mb) and got 3Mb

Getting about 1/8th of line speed on my Vox account and my TI account is pretty much unusable. Also in Cape Town. Suspect the storm this morning has knocked something out somewhere in the chain...

I earlier suggested the rain as well, but I'm not sure. But now with so many CT users reporting poor connections, I think it might just be that.

I'm getting around 20kbps on my 2mb line lol. Its been so slow today, that I think I could run faster than this connection.

Not sure what the exact cause is, but just pleased it is not between me and the local exchange. The problem seems to be CT generally. Surprised more people haven't complained though in the various threads. Will check in the morning and if the problem persists will request a port reset, though everything looks exactly as it should on my router stats, so really wouldn't expect that to make any difference.

Im in the Cape Town southern suburbs. My speeds are horrible for the past 2 hours. Can hardly get a page to load. Switched to Afrihost mobile just to try and see if anyone else is having problems.

Same here, Southern Suburbs, Telkom Uncapped 10Mbps, Can't load a single page, however switching to a capped Telkom account works just fine. Weird.

I'm on Telkom 10Mb capped account and can't even load a single page  Wanted to stream the F1 like I always do with no luck. Frustrating!

Same here. Switched over to Afrihost, and im connected again. Definitely a Telkom issue it seems

I'm also on an uncapped package, and switched over to my capped Afrihost package and I'm good.

On Afrihost data now, and I'm okay in terms of speed wise. So could be a Telkom issue
Just ran some tests both MyBB speedtest and speedtest.net are stuffed on TI - speeds are reported incorrectly.

I'm getting almost 5mbps down using the BT speedtest (UK) and normal stats with SAIX speedtest (http://capetown.spdtst.saix.net/)

Last Result:
Download Speed: 8695 kbps (1086.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 708 kbps (88.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 39 ms

... hop 3 is still showing packet loss for me though.

Send you a pm regarding my dsl that I want to upgrade but getting mixed informaiton

MyBB speedtest to Cape Town is still shot:

But Joburg is fine:

Variable packet loss usually worse in the evening but not good atm:

It's not impacting me badly but I'm not a gamer and don't stream TV. No problems with p2p or iPlayer radio.

crazy that, especially since my understanding is that streaming is normally or generally prioritized. Yet, after 8pm, and it just does nothing at all for me.
