If you are both passed the last defender then you are BOTH in an offside position, so the 2nd guy is coming form an OFFSIDE position to collect a ball passed forward to him from another guy ahead of the last defender. It's not rocket science.

ffs nobody except you think its offside, even the miss they did earlier was not offside that was the same reason.

rubbish supa the miss was offside

your only not offside if you dont interfer with play

that one where they missed the one german was miles offside and ended up scoring, that my friend is offside

the second goal not offside, when the ball was played both players where both onside and then passed the defender

the miss they had was offside, u cannot come back from an offside position and score

I agree with you for the miss, but wasn't the goal the very same situation? with the only question being whether the ball went forward, which it did...?

Thats the problem with you goggle crew, you dont understand even the offside rule.

If I pass behind the defense my onside player can run pickup the ball (his now behind the defense) I can come from my onside position and go into what was offside. My player can now pass to me and i can score even though im behind the last defender.

The miss was the same setup.

Since when? Seriously. That means that the player that scores received the ball in an offside position and then went on to score and it is ok? He ran in from an offside position to receive the ball in an offside position but when he scores he is not in an offside position??:rolleyes:

thats not what happened in the miss, as far as i saw a pass went to the onside the other player was a mile offside the onside player then passed to the guy who was offside before the onside guy received the ball

is this not offside? surely u cannot be a mile offside then still receive the ball and score

i understand if the offside player never got the ball fair enough but your a mile offside then receive the ball and just about score your offside

@HenryJ Its been like that since the introduction of the offside rule.

@killadoob The initial pass to get behind the defense if both players are onside and run behind the defense they can be miles behind the defense they will not be offside.

It has most certainly not been that way and it is not that way now. I don't think you get what I mean. :(

Oh well, they won 2-0 anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Then the whole crew of the bbc dont get you because nobody even questions it not being onside.
Both players came from a onside position when it got played behind the defense...THEY NOT OFFSIDE.

If both those players came from a onside position when the ball got passed behind the defenders then no they are onside!

ffs here is even espn on the goal:

ESPN on the goal:
Once again Germany breach the offside trap and make a much better fist of it this time. Klose again gets through and this time sqaures for Podolski who taps in, and doesn't celebrate scoring against the country of his birth.

BBC on the goal

2004: GOAL Germany 1-0 Poland
Mario Gomez delivers a cute pass for Miroslav Klose, running down the right-hand channel. This time Klose takes the right option, sliding the the ball across for Lukas Podolski to prod home and give Germany the lead against the country of his birth.

No! That is the 1ST pass that got Y1 into that position. It is the pass to Y2 that is offside...

lol you a joke man, you cant even understand the offside rule.

If both your players are onside, someone plays it behind the defense both your players y1 and y2 run behind the defense, y1 gets the ball. Its now y1 and y2 against the keeper, y1 can pass to y2 reason being like y1, y2 was onside when the pass behind was done.

That can't be right. So offside does not always apply then? If you are passed the last defender it no longer applies?

Stop calling me a joke. Just debate the facts here.

Only Tkers are allowed to insult Henry damit
