well in defence of scholes, he just got back from injury. give him a few weeks or so.

And the same goes for Park. He has been poor since coming back. Gets into good positions and then doesn't know what to do.

Also, Brown as a wing back just isn't working. Whenever he gets forward I lose all confidence. Where on earth is the mighty Neviile G?

we all nani is not of good quality and should not be playing end of story

scholes has served united well in the past but i believe he is not playing well and its hurting united

what hurting united is rooney's stupid attitude and his stupid yellow cards for abusing the ref something i think they should fix

i have never seen a ref change his mind about a decision in my life

fine him a week wages everytime he does it

get ronaldo carrick and hargreaves playing back in their positions, keep rooney outta trouble and injury free to play alongside tevez and they will do much better

merc defend him all you want but this is very important part of the season you dont want to giving somebody a few games to get back into form when u have players like hargreaves and carrick who are in form and sitting on the bench

Ya, some good points here. We didn't buy Carrick and Hargreaves to sit on the bench while we nurse someone back to fitness and form on the field. That is why we have a squad- to rotate.

Agree about Rooney as well. That side of his game is just pathetic.

For me, we still need at least one more attacking player. Saha is always injured and when he does play he is not great and then he gets injured again.

That means we have Tevez and Rooney as our only strikers. That is not good enough. Giggs can be pushed up front in an emergency, but that is not the solution.

I vote sell Nani, Anderson, Fletcher and throw some cash at Spurs for Berbatov, who is awesome this season.

i don't think we should sell Anderson. i think he is a good player. they all played crap yesterday. just watch anderson on the ball and watch his upper body strength. he shows upper body strength when he has the ball and when he is tackling and defending. also, he never falls down and looks for free kicks. he stands his ground. can you tell of any other player in the premiership who does this?

I do not like him at all. Seems to work hard and run around a lot and still get nothing done. He might be strong, but for me, he is no very attacking and doesn't have much flair. In that regard he is too much like Carrick/Hargreaves. Having all three in the same team means we have almost no attacking impetus at all.

what about his through-balls? don't they count :(

No :p For me, he has just not performed at all since his arrival. At least the awful Nani has had some decent games here and there, even scoring the winner occasionally, which makes you think he might have some kind of promise for the future.

Anderson has done nothing for me but give the ball away and run around(quite slowly).

I agree fully. Anderson is still young and needs to learn alot. Compare what Ronaldo is now to what he was when he first joined United, it's almost like he's a totally different player.

Say what you want but EVERYONE had a horrible game yesterday. Even Ferdinand who has been consistent this season played pathetic. As much as I hate to admit it but I agree with a statement that was made by Arsene Wenger about Ferguson making a really silly desicion to tour the Arab Emirates during the middle of the seaons. After getting back, our boys haven't been playing the same...

just my 2c worth

Yeah, everyone was poor yesterday. Lucky to get away with 2-1 in the end really. The mid-season tour was not the best idea, but a strong squad should be able to cope with that really. I just don't think, unlike Fergie, that our squad is strong at all.

Take out two players (Evra and Rooney) and we look like half the team we should.

yes that trip really was quite phucking stupid. i swear sometimes i don't know what is in ferguson's head. and yes, ferdinand was phucking awful yesterday. he gave away the ball at crucial places, which ultimately resulted in one of the goals and almost city's 3rd.

huh? evra and rooney???
evra is one of the better players in the team and rooney's off ball play is crucial.

Evra was also suspended cos of 5 yellow cards. We need his attacking down the wing, then Ronaldo can come inside more sometimes or overlap. That was sorely lacking yesterday with O'Shea in his place.

That is what I mean! Without these two key players we looked poor. You shouldn't rely on like one or two players is what I am saying.

oops i misunderstood what you said :o

Man Utd blame defeat on fatigue

Manchester United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz blamed the toll of international football for his side's defeat by Manchester City.

City beat their rivals 2-1 after both clubs' fans impeccably observed a minute's silence to mark the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster.

"We believe the team was affected by international call-ups," said Queiroz.

"But talking about that would be an excuse. It was not our day. We didn't play well and need to accept that."

He did say that much at least. Fair play.

he did, but he also mentioned the other thing. it almost seems as if he wanted to use that excuse, then said "but saying that would be an excuse..."

i don't know if you know what i mean?
