The Official Cyanogenmod Thread

Okay I finally got CM on my Note II. Had to download the software via the Installer on one PC (It wouldn't download on the other), copy files over to another PC (Work PC vs personal PC :o), then I had to swap the USB cable (For some reason mine did not work) and voila.

Only thing is I've already discovered a number of issues with CM.

1. Unable to dock the phone to output video/audio to TV anymore. (I use Netflix this way). Oh well back to using the laptop.
2. Bugged out once or twice where the screen turned off and refused to turn back on while phoning.
3. Has rebooted itself once or twice.

The big positive is the performance and responsiveness is much better than before. I don't even need to upgrade my phone anymore as it is due, just gonna keep it.

Hi guys,
Is there any cyanogenmod with a working fm radio for my device, really dont want to go stock but no working radio is a bit boring....

Using s5300, cm11 kitkat experience right now

I recently installed CM11 on my Note 2 (my first custom ROM)

I've picked up a problem if the battery runs flat as it appears that the system doesn't reflect that the device is charging again and won't switch on, even if the battery is subsequently fully charged, I have to take the battery out a couple of times before it appears that CM recognises that it's a fully charged battery, anyone else experienced anything like this?

Ah, so this is where this thread is at.

Last week I got totally fed up with my Nexus 2012 being so laggy, unresponsive and useless (just good at wasting energy to keep the battery charged) that I almost chucked it. Following recommendations (thanks Lino) I installed Cyanogenmod 11 on it.

Never been happier, it is now snappier, more responsive and just is better than before. Battery life has also been improved.

Then I did my Galaxy S (GT-i9000). I suspect there is something wrong with the phone as it corrupts any SD card on insertion. This also cause the process of sideloading Cyanogenmod 11 to bomb out at the 87% mark, no matter what I did.

Then I got the idea of inserting an SD card with the CM11 installation file on it, and installing it that way. It failed due to the above problem of SD card corruption.

In an act of desperation, I mounted USB storage (whilst running ClockworkMod) and managed to copy the CM11 installer over. The installer executed flawlessly and, after clearing all the caches, I got CM11 up and running.

I had to turn off animation and set the CPU governor (settings - performance - processor) to ondemand to increase performance - but those two tweaks was worth it.

Now I have an older phone upgraded to Android 4.4.4 and a much better fondleslab than before.

Battery life on both devices' are much better than previously.

With the new 4.4.2 firmware on my S5 i can't install a custom recovery, i think the bootloader is locked. How do I get around this?

Would really like to put CM on this phone.

Try lollipop unofficial cm12, have no idea when the official one is coming out

This is cm12 I'm using, runs perfectly as a daily driver. No bugs

AFAIK the S5 is not supported yet.

Keep in mind you will void your warranty...

Unlocking the bootloader should be a doddle - enable USB debugging then use adb to unlock the boot loader. Google for the precise steps.

I've already tripped KNOX so my warranty is void already :(

The S5 doesn't have an official build out, but there are builds for it. Guess I need to go do some reading over at XDA.

Read up on the process first and prepare yourself first before rushing in ;)

I'm still reading up on rooting my S3 mini...

I rooted and flashed ROMS plenty of times on my previous Android phones (HTC Desire + S3) but this S5 is proving to be more tricky.
