The Tata Bolt Thread (Tata Lovers)

To be expected though.

I do hope that we start getting the new models here .... and FFS .... sort out the dealer network and marketing. :(
The Tigor looks very good. But are the rumors still running around that Tata is pulling their passenger line out of SA?

Seems to be in limbo. I asked the company that does passenger TATA cars, think they are called Motus or something, and they said they are in negotiations with TATA India to bring in the new models.

"View or range of vehicle" says Tata, when you take them up on their offer you are greeted by exactly two models that make up their whole range, does anyone understand what is their problem?

Both my brake lights were out so I quickly stopped @ Bosch Service in Republic road. They sorted it out quick sticks but as I was standing by the lady's desk while she prepared my invoice a job card caught my eye and I saw it was for a Tata Bolt. I told her oh that is lekker to see you guys servicing Tata Bolts. ..... but then she said, no, not a service. Its turbo went caput. Car has 46K on it I think she said, but it is over 5 years old already.

I just hope this is not a omen.

5 years is the general lifetime of turbos.

I heard modern turbo's is supposed to last the life of the engine pretty much, and that is not 5 years surely????
That's a salesman's tale. I wish there were stats to show how many turbos makes it to 250k.

Many parts of a car are never designed to last the life of an engine, compare that to a turbo that works at extreme temperatures and at high speeds.

They do have one....a great one actually. We just dont get it here.

My point, why? Is it not crazy that they are hanging around here in an SUV crazy country where Kwids are selling like hot cakes yet all they have is a Bolt and a bakkie?

I agree. Distributor is crap in this country if you ask me. Think they are called Motus or something. Their marketing of the Bolt also were non existent.

With SUV being the craze and every manufacturer having at least one why is Tata SA sleeping on the job?

And do proper MARKETING!!!

Quickly went and put two new tyres on the front and moved the front ones to the back. The back ones did not have enough tread left and there was also a nail in it, though was not losing pressure from what I could tell. When the front wheels came off I had a look and saw that the pads were rather low (these were the original pads I bought the car with and I am on I think 54 000km now so they have lasted really long. Guy that was changing the wheels said there is a shop accross the road that sells pads so I ran in there. They only sell Messi from what I could see. Told him it is for a Tata Bolt and he looked on his PC and I walked out with new pads in 2 minutes for like R400.00. Guys put them on really quickly at Mintys and asked me for R150.00.

Now my wheel allignment seems to be out though /sigh
Will go have allignment done this weekend.
